Minor off subject 2 cents worth here. If there is a Delayed penalty and the a goal is scored (like in the end of the game) the penalty is washed out, fine, I'm OK with it....but should'nt it be considered a PP goal? I think so

I have to be honest, I was quite worried heading into this. I feel so much better right now.

I'd feel better if Pav or Hossa showed something today, but again, it only means we can be better. We're still winning without them producing, and it's scary to think what might happen if they get going. I think we all keep saying to ourselves, "Man, we aren't going to win without Datsyuk or Hossa scoring." Up until this point, I've believed whole-heartedly in that statement. Now, to be perfectly straight, I'm not so sure. I think we can win the Stanley Cup without either of them turning it on. Why? Guys like Dan Cleary. Guys like Johan Franzen. Ozzie, too. We're so deep and so talented, that we might be able to win without our Hart Trophy finalist doing anything. This was just a random rant from me, but it's something I'm beginning to fathom.

If Kane and Toews decide not to show up, however, Chicago isn't coming close to making this series competitive. Their goaltending was superb, too, and I have a hard time believing he can be that solid the rest of the way. The 'Hawks weren't bad by a LONG stretch, but they also are going to have to realize that an effort like today's isn't going to be enough, especially because the Wings are bound to be better in Game 2.

THEY PLAYED REALLY WELL IN STRETCHES BUT I THINK THEY WERE VERY INCONSISTENT TOO AND THEY CLEARLY DON'T HAVE THE DEPTH TO MAKE UP FOR A DISAPPEARING ACT BY THEIR TOP LINE
