Z and D for the C 712 Report post Posted May 17, 2009 (edited) If you don't seen that the intentions behind interviewing crosby, during a game he has nothing to do with, are not to get thoughts about staal v staal or about his team, but just to market him to a national audience, you're dense. There is nothing more to it, no amount of sarcasm will make you seem correct. That interview would have never taken place if his name wasn't Sideny Crosby, and it undoubtedly annoys the s*** out of a lot of people. These are facts. That interview would have never taken place if his name wasn't Sideny Crosby, and it undoubtedly annoys the s*** out of a lot of people. These are facts. A series of questions they asked him was pertaining to Jordan/Eric Staal. There is no logical reason for people to be annoyed by the Crosby s***, aside of a ridiculous amount of jealousy. There's no reason to be jealous of a kid on a team your team beat for the cup finals just because he's one of the league's most prominent and marketable players. If there was anyone that was actually serious in thinking they shouldn't have talked to anyone who was from that other series during the 1st, and just showed highlights (which they did) and nothing else, they are stupid. Now THAT is a fact. Edited May 17, 2009 by Shoreline
David 2 Report post Posted May 17, 2009 I wasn't even going to say it, so as not to poison the well and have people catch on quicker, but apparently that doesn't even matter. Do you think if I started an "NBC is biased" thread during the Pens game tomorrow, complaining that they hate the Wings because they keep showing Sidney Crosby on the ice, people would jump on the bait? Perhaps a poll.... "NBC is showing Sidney Crosby skating around and scoring goals and not talking about the Wings. This means what?" - NBC hates the Wings - NBC looooooooooves them some Sidney - buttman sux hurrrrrr - It's a Penguins game How many people would pick option D? For this to occur, their series would have to have game one on NBC. Unfortunately for this scenario, none of the Penguins-Hurricanes games are slated to be on NBC. While people are watching one game, make sure to market the next game to them. Not that big of a deal. I always thought it was peculiar when SportsCenter or (whatever post game show) would begin with the game I just watched. I know what happenned, I just spent three hours watching it. Tell me something I don't know, like something about a different game.

wmubronco420 25 Report post Posted May 17, 2009 it does seem kinda odd that they would let eddie O do this national game, i mean the guy does color fro the blackhawks for christ's sake. So can we have Mickey on Versus next game.

Z and D for the C 712 Report post Posted May 17, 2009 The point didn't stand in the first place. It would be silly to think that NBC wouldn't interview Crosby or "show him scoring goals" during a pittsburgh game. It isn't silly to think that NBC wouldn't interview Crosby or "show him scoring goals" during a game that has nothing to do with pittsburgh. Crosby was interviewed because he is Sidney Crosby. You're fugazi (google that one) if you think otherwise.

You're fugazi (google that one) if you think otherwise. Then again, it's also silly that so many people take this stuff so seriously. This thread proves that a lot of people need to recalibrate their sarcasmeters - up til this post I haven't strung together two non-sarcastic sentences in the whole thread. I mean, are people that desperately in need of validation for the Wings, and at the same time so addicted to the hockey coverage, that it upsets them that greatly that Crosby is on during the intermission? I don't even watch during the intermission whether they're talking about the Wings, Crosby, or Santa Claus. What part of the intermission has ever been worth watching except for maybe 60 seconds of previous-period highlights? Get up and grab a beer or something. Guest GordieSid&Ted Report post Posted May 17, 2009 They just announced that their "iso-cams" will be streaming on Toews and Kane. That's right, two Blackhawks. No iso-cams for the Red Wings. No doubt Bettman ordered NBC to do this since he hates the Wings. No iso-cams on Wings? Are you s***ting me people? I thought I was a die hard Red Wing fan but if this is really the kind of stuff that bothers people....either I am not really as hard core a Wings fans as I thought..............or some people need to get fecking lives already. Guest GordieSid&Ted Report post Posted May 17, 2009 We have a winner. Bear trap has just caught a big one! That's if one really believes in this pseudo cover up story about this being in jest. I don't buy it for a second. Since when has LGW not been the home of whiny babies. Seriously, we've surpassed Vancouver fanboys as the whiniest fans on the planet. Some folks around here ought to be very proud.

Doc Emrick works with the Devils broadcasts, Strader with the Coyotes, Forslund with the Hurricanes, Beninati with the Caps.. and I could go on and on. The point is, your expectations to have an announcer that doesn't work with other teams is obviously unrealistic, and this is how things in American broadcasts have been done for years. Obviously bias has not been a problem.

I'm sure you know I spend lots of time mocking people who whine about Crosby, and especially other players who get attention besides the Wings (this is a complaint that happens WAY too much) but man the OP was so blatantly a mockery I couldn't have done a better job myself. cusimano_brothers 1,655 Report post Posted May 17, 2009 From a network standpoint, NBC's choices for the "Isocam" worked out prefectly; with the games they turned in (3 total shots total with none by Kane, with each getting zero points and a -3 plus/minus), they can use the footage for the "Compulsory Figures" portion the next time figure skating is on.
