Electrophile 3,554 Report post Posted May 24, 2009 I had a feeling Hossa would work himself out of the funk he was in. He was getting great shots, assists.....it was only a matter of time before the puck went in. You have to let these things fix themselves.

TCbrizz 2 Report post Posted May 24, 2009 Seems Hossa isn't showing much intensity and is just along for the ride. What should Babcock do to get him on track to score/play even half a good as last post season? Discussss I was excited to have this forum shown to me by a buddy....and then i read this....i hope this isn't the kind of garbage that rules here. good lord is this an idiotic post. hossa has been playing extremely well in every game, especially defensively. Today's 2 goals were only a matter of time.
titanium2 867 Report post Posted May 24, 2009 Datsyuk admitted that one of the biggest reasons as to why he loves Z as a linemate is because Z has that pure defensive instinct that allows him to lead the defensive play while Pav can simply do his part and not feel too much pressure on the defensive end. Hossa and Datsyuk were offense-first guys who eventually learned to play on the defensive end. They are maybe not the type to lead a line in terms of defensive play; as least not as much as Z. Maybe Fil is Hossa's Z. He'll lead the defensive play so that Hossa can just do his part and on the offensive end, Fil will give the puck to Hossa and let him create. Hossa has scored 2 goals in all Game 4's in the playoffs. I think he will break this tradition when (knock wood) we face his old team. He had spark tonight. Keep him with Filppula. They do well together.

Broken record here, but when Datsyuk gets back I want him to be paired with Zetterberg and Hossa to stay with Flip. Would be interesting to see a Datsyuk-Zetterberg-Franzen line.. Hossa has scored 2 goals in all Game 4's in the playoffs. I think he will break this tradition when (knock wood) we face his old team. How crazy of a streak is that haha? Hopefully he breaks it (in the good way). Edited May 24, 2009 by dat's sick
The Secret 304 Report post Posted May 24, 2009 I told you all that the treat of a tarring & feathering would motivate Hoss to play hockey instead of riding our coattails. It was only a matter of time... the guy busts his hump every game and both ways and it was only a matter of time before he got his groove back.

Guest Four Report post Posted May 25, 2009 This thread was a non starter from the word go. Well it seems whenever we post about a player, they do good the next day. Coincidence or not, I'd rather capitalize on these chances and see them score the next game than not post and something may not happen. The LGW boards dictate what happens on the ice, admit it. Dimaline312000 51 Report post Posted May 25, 2009 Well I wish I would have read this before this Game 4 of the WCF after Hossa has scored two goals in this game. What I think Babsy needs to do if he hasn't done it already is put Hossa on the spot go to him and say that he needs him to bring his game up a level after all he did leave Pittsburgh to com to Detroit to Win a Cup this is his chance. Now one player can't win a game or a Cup but this is Hossa's time and he along with the over Big Guns on this Detroit Roster need to step it up more on offense. I think that if Babsy hasn't done that already that is what he needs to do and not to just Hossa. Zetter,Dats,Liddy,Holmsy all of them have to step it up to be successful becasue even if Detroit gets past the Hawks the Penguins are going to be even more tough this season than they were last season and that worries me alot. Let's Go Detroit Red Wings!!!!

Guest Four Report post Posted May 25, 2009 (edited) Ummm....Yea, sure. So, who are you wrongfully going to trash next? You, for being so damn annoying. You don't always have to post, you know. If you don't like the topic, no need to troll it and act disrespectful. I called out a player, who I thought was playing poorly; he is paid to score, which he hadn't exactly done prior to this game. It was my opinion, get over it. Edited May 25, 2009 by Four

To be exact, you said Hossa "was just along for the ride". That is a bit beyond calling him out for not scoring. Your arrogance is only exceeded by your lack of knowledge of the game. Now, you mental midget, you're dismissed.

Your arrogance is only exceeded by your lack of knowledge of the game. Now, you mental midget, you're dismissed. That was rather uncalled for. I won't even finish replying since you cannot seem to grasp the simple concept of respect. No wonder you're rated one-star, you use insults instead of facts. I've watched hockey since I was born, so a "lack of knowledge" is out of the question. When a player is getting beat to lose pucks in the corners and using one hand on his stick, it gives a sense of laziness. Just because we don't see eye to eye does not give you the right to act like a rodent. Edit: If you want to continue your spoiled posts, just PM me them and quit ruining the thread, as I'm sure if you continue, a moderator will intervene. Go ahead and claim your vast knowledge of hockey while at the same time questioning a player's heart..his desire to win....all the while this same player came here to make less money, so he could just be "along for the ride". Might be a safe bet that should Hoss for some reason go scoreless in game 5 (even if the Wings win), you'll be all over him again. It just amazes me how someone who, from your reply (you "watched hockey since birth"), probably never played the game and yet has the stones to question a player's will to win. I bet the players love to be critiqued by fans like you.

Please, go cry more somewhere else, as I've stated to PM me if you have any further discussions. Calling out false accusations because of how I make posts is absurd and makes you look rather naive. Hossa stepped up today with Datsyuk gone, and played one hell of a game. He should have been playing at this same intensity all the other games, but he seemed flat footed and lacked desire. Today's game was nothing like many of the others I've seen him play. He's been great defensively, but shy in the offensive zone. Now please, he obviously wants to win, so quit twisting my words around. You can play great defensively and be a non-factor on the ice and win, but playing with grit like he did today shows he hadn't been playing at mac intensity for the playoffs; he played at a whole different level today. And funny, how you question my hockey knowledge, to which I reply to you, and then you use it against me like I made it seem like I know everything. Please stop ruining my thread now with your ludicrous remarks. If you can be respectful and provide a good argument, then stay, but if you're going to continue to try and degrade myself and other members, then don't post. I'll have you on ignore.
