Everybody thinks about Franzen... That long contract is one of Holland's masterpieces, yeah...

But what about Osgood ?

1.4m this year, then 1.7m 1.4m 1m.

FYI guys like Fleury earn 5 millions.

We have a 3x cup winner locked for the next 3 years for an incredible bargain !!

This guy rejoined the Wings after getting bailed on (admittedly, for the best goalie of our generation) and accepted a back up role behind Manny friggin' Legace. That's all kinds of dedication. The dude is maybe the truest Red Wing left in the league. His salary is certainly a reflection of that.

******* word.

Oz is a beast of a goalie. I'm glad we have him. He's been playing outstanding ever since the playoffs started and has carried our team through periods when we decided not to show up. He's been nothing short of amazing.

Sammy's salary and his production is up there with Hudler and Ozzie.

Sammy plays outstanding defense and does put up points while having a meager contract.

Hudler is a vital clog to a lethal Powerplay and his production with limited ice time is insane, and again, he has a very small contract.

The last one is Ozzie, who cares about the past because we are talking about this year, and this year, with the massive amount of quality shots he sees a game (remember, not all shots are created equal) he has been outstanding. Best GAA and S% of the remaining goalies and out of all the goalies he is top 2 in all goalie statistics for the playoffs.

Any one of these three would get my vote for most underpaid for what they do on the ice.

Disclaimer: High and Wide Logo Hunter is my least favorite Wing, but he does deserve props for his production less salary.

The Ozzie/McCarty interview is great.

Take every playoff goalie and create a ratio of the ammount they are paid compared to any of their stats. I guarantee Osgood will win every category.

Osgood isn't the best goalie but he is a lot better than we are paying him to be.

I dont know about underpaid, its great to have him at that price, but by underpaid I am thinking the guy could easily make more money. If Ozzie was a FA this offseason, does anyone think he would get much more than that on the open market?

Omfg.... Let the Overrating Continue.

Is it possible to overrate a 3-time cup winner, who won last season, with two shutouts in the SCF, and is leading all goaltenders this post-season AND is making around $1.4mil?

No, honestly, is it even possible?

He gets paid for the regular season. When he starts performing then, he can get a raise. Otherwise, tough s***. The caps coming down next year by $2.5m anyway...no room to give Ossy a raise.

No, not true. He is not a liability, but he's not outstanding. Sammy is paid the right amount. He makes more mistakes and bad decisions than anyone on this team. The man can shoot the puck, but that is about all he has goin for him.
