Good question! I know exceptions have been made in the past though.....wouldn't surprise me if they made another one here.

Nah, they will waive it. Malsby will be complete on Tuesday.

(NEW for 2005-06) (NOTE 1) No team appeals will be permitted either verbally or in writing regarding the assessment of this automatic suspension.

I'm not sure they can.

Me and my dad were saying the same things, it's hilarious.

Overall great game, I think we were a little sloppy tonight on defense and were lucky it didn't cost us at times.

I'd say if we take one of the two games in pittsburgh this series is over, still staying with my prediction in 4 or 5.

Also on a side note, i didn't know zetterburgh was a fighter hahaha, anyone else see those last 3 punches he landed on malkins face? nice.. meanwhile malkin was beating on the ref it seemed. LOL.

He's filling in for Datsyuk. Remember what Pav did last year to Gary Roberts? Except I don't think Roberts came from behind.

I have been soooo impressed with the officiating! They are letting the teams play. The players are going to decide this one, not the refs! :beerbuddy:

Wow Games 1 + 2 have looked identical! Did they put a tape of Game 1 on? Ha-ha! So much for back-to-back nights being an advantage for Pittsburgh! We shoved that theory right down their throats!

All we need to do is split in Pittsburgh and we have a change to win a 12th Cup at home!

Bylsma is still being class and not playing the whining game. Maybe he learned from babs?

Remember Therrian from last year? He would blab about "interference" 10-12 times at every press conference.

I love Z. I love Abdelkader. I love Ozzie. I love this team.

These haven't been 2 perfect games by any means. Tonight I thought the Wings looked sluggish for much of the first 2 periods.

But they managed to win anyway.

Can we get Datsyuk back for next game? Is Malkin suspended next game? These things could decide the series.

I like Babs comment in the presser, the media totally misunderstood his comment about Crosby "head-hunting".

Man, that would be awesome. In a pivotal game for the Pens, their leading scorer and point getter is in a luxury suite with Lemieux. Wow.

I'm hearing more love for the Red Wings than I am for the Pens from pretty much everyone.

I agree. I heard the interference commentary but only once did I hear Olczyk say that it should have been called. Other than that when it was mentioned they seemed to think it was legal (and smart) play.

Babcock clarifies and admits he may have misspoke. I like it. Thats class. (A comment on Crosby and Zets going after each other)

I am on the NHL Network and they are interviewing Babcock right now.

They can't appeal, but there's precedent for overturning the suspension. Scott Walker appealed his suspension for his suckerpunch on Ward, which came because of the instigator rule, and he was able to convince the NHL not to suspend him.

Babs himself just said he doesn't think anything will come of it.

Great gut check game by the Wings. They fell behind. Pittsburgh gave Detroit their A game. The Wings never gave up a goal to go down 2-1 or to let Pittsburgh tie it at 2-2. They held the fort. They got the 3rd goal and from there they took it to the Pens. For all the talk about how injured the Wings were, how tired the Wings were, how young and hungry the Penguins were, it's 2-0 Wings and the Penguins high flying offense has two goals.

Sometimes a veteran team finds way to win, they just do

They might be able to rescind the instigator...do you think?

I just find it hard to believe they're going to suspend the Pens' best player.

Yep, basically they have to rescind the instigator call. I.E. say it never happened.

STOP WHINING!!!!

The Red Wings were not that great tonight compared to yesterday IMHO. As far as the "bias" play-by=play goes, it seems that the Red Wing fans are

sounding Sidney Crosby-ish with all the whining about being "picked on", or "bias against us" or conspiracy theories! CHILDISH!

Come on folks - Motor City fans don't stoop to whining, so let the NHL brass tout their superstars while the Red Wings win the Cup - its ok!
