"This is not fun to watch. I take in lots of beer,'' Datsyuk said. Yeah what's up with that?? He's boozing it up in the Finals like the rest of us!

My biggest concern for this series has always been whether or not we're going to have enough gas left in the tank, and with Datsyuk and Draper coming in as fresh bodies to take some of the weight off the other guys, I just can't help but feel stoked about our chances.

There's also two days off between game 5 and 6, and two days off between 6 and 7 if it gets that far.

I feel that having this Wednesday off will help the Wings recharge their tanks. They don't have to worry about coming into Pitts, so they can get more rest than the previous day off.

Guest Four

I have a feeling that Datsyuk was sort-of-ready for a while, but Detroit kept on winning so he didn't want to interfere. Now that they won, it's his turn to step back in

it must really suck to be a penguins fans. Just when your team finally shows some life,....we throw in two selke winners against a team that's already had trouble scoring.

If Datsyuk shuts malkin down this series is over.

One thing is nagging at me though. The Wings got Rafalski back in Game 6 if the Anaheim series and yet they lost that game. How much will Pav change the on ice chemistry negatively?

Come on, really? You're comparing Anaheim to Pittsburgh? Seriously? Quick, edit your post...hurry, before too many read it.

I'd rather tomorrow's lines with Dats being:

Mule-Zata-Hudler

Filp-Dats-Hossa

Cleary-Helm-Sammy

Maltby-Draper-Abdelkader

That's just me personally, though. I don't really care if Hudler and Cleary are switched up as long as Dats is playing opposite Malkin.

I'm just playing Socrates gadfly. Should Datsyuk really be up against the highest scorer in the league right now?

Also, the only thing I don't like about the Flip-Pav-Hoss line is that you have three guys who have shown that their first preference is to be around the perimeter. But who knows? Maybe they'll go to the net for one game.

It's not so much about the opponent for me. It's just a concern for adjusting Pav into the team as a whole.

And unless my memory is failing me, I really don't like to edit my posts unless it's a technical or grammatical error. Who do you think I am? A certain kind of fan who thinks the home team supplies all the sticks? Too bad that evidence is gone.

I think you're underestimating the value that Pavs has with this team, especially against Pittsburgh. He is just as solid defensively as Zetterberg, so naturally, his primary responsibility is to shut down Malkin. He can worrying about scoring if he finds himself in that opportunity.

Imagine how fast this series is going to be over if Dats is as effective as Z. Malkin is their top point producer.

True. Actually now that I think about it, maybe that will allow Hossa to focus a little more on offense since he doesn't have to compensate for Holmstrom.

I'm not expecting Pavs to be a firm offensive contributor for the remainder of the playoffs, based on what his role will most likely be, his past playoff run this year, and the fact that he's coming off an injury. Fortunately our team is deep enough that our top two lines can cancel our their top two lines, and our third and fourth lines can chip in the goals.

I love how all these Red Wings fans, after their series with the Ducks, proclaim that that round was "The Real Stanley Cup Finals" and how the Ducks would beat every Eastern Conference team by a margin of 17 goals per game.

His press conference today, or at least the video on mlive, made me wonder what is the upside to his English speaking ability? He's a lot more willing to joke around with the media. I can imagine finding his press conferences more entertaining than the select few of boring regular season games.

Yet again a fan of an Eastern Conference team fails to learn that DEFENSE wins championships. The Ducks didn't win their Cup by blowing out the opposition with goals, they smothered their offensive threats and grinded out one-goal wins.

DATSYUK ! ! ! !

BWahahaha!....let the games begin

Even before Datsyuk's injury he had not shown up for the 2009 playoffs, starting with the Anaheim Ducks, c'mon show us your OLD self again. SCORE, show them "WHO's the BOSS"

Oh i Think Dats is a go - he has to play so we can close in on this series ASAP - the "game time decision" is just to keep the Pens off guard - that's my best fan guess anyways. ;)

And he doesn't need to rack up points like some are suggesting, just garner attention his way and give Malkin something to think about..... I'm psyched for some Datsyuk!!

Why do you think I'm wrong on Datsyuk scoring? Isn't that what we expect of HIM, a little offense?

could be true.

Osgood told me the media this

"To me," goaltender Chris Osgood said, "we've played five games in eight days without Pav. That's long enough. We've made it this far, but we don't want to take anymore chances.

looks like datsyuk must have been ready before but they didnt let him play for some reason.

You know what I love? I love fans from other teams on this board straying completely off topic in their replies in a pathetic attempt to bait out a response. Read what you quoted again, stop putting words in peoples mouths, and speak when you are spoken to ass-hat.

I see that reading comprehension still isn't a strong suit of Pennsyls***holians.
