DRW Dominance 255 Report post Posted June 5, 2009 Oh I have no doubt he'll be a major positive for your squad. I'm just looking forward to the end of all the excuse-making that's cropped up since the Pens won a game or two. The funny thing is that most predicted this to be a 6-7 game series. So why is anyone surprised at all to see it 2-2?

I'm just looking forward to the end of all the excuse-making that's cropped up since the Pens won a game or two. You kidding me? The Penguins' excuses for games 1 and 2 completely took the cake. At least our excuses are based on the players themselves, I've heard Penguins fans blame everything from the boards to the Wings cheating by giving Pittsburgh faulty sticks - everything BUT their players. You'll find not one instance of me blaming refs or breaks or anything else for the Pens losses. Take it up with those other guys. By the way, ALL fan bases complain about that bumper boards thing. Not just the Pens'. To me, the Datsyuk thing is just as faulty an excuse.
Ms_Hockey 0 Report post Posted June 5, 2009 (edited) Anybody who underestimates Pavel Datsyuk is just a flat out idiot. That's like saying Crosby has no effect on how his team plays. It's Pavel freaking Datsyuk. Even if he's not on your team, you have to recognize how amazing of a hockey player he is. To even suggest he's anything but good is asinine and pathetic. And yes, this goes for the 55 guests, who I can only assume a good portion are Pens fans, reading this. Edited June 5, 2009 by Ms_Hockey
10 Minute Misconduct 104 Report post Posted June 5, 2009 "Well, you know, first thing is prior to yesterday's game, we were hoping Pav was going to be in, but we weren't planning," Mike Babcock stated. "Now we're hoping Pav's going to be in and we're planning that he's going to be in." http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=280978
RockyMountainWingGal 108 Report post Posted June 5, 2009 Oh I have no doubt he'll be a major positive for your squad. I'm just looking forward to the end of all the excuse-making that's cropped up since the Pens won a game or two. All teams have their slew of excuses for losing, esp in playoff games. Like someone above said, series expected to be 2-2 at this point, not the scenario I figured, but yet here we are. Dats coming back will not get rid of excuses anyways - new ones will suddenly pop up...

So if Malkin or Crysby was out for all four games and you got swept out of the playoffs you wouldn't have used that as an excuse?

GMRwings1983 8,803 Report post Posted June 5, 2009 So if Malkin or Crysby was out for all four games and you got swept out of the playoffs you wouldn't have used that as an excuse? Good point. We would have won the series in 4 and Pens fans would accuse the Wings of cheating as a result.
OsGOD 3 Report post Posted June 5, 2009 So if Malkin or Crysby was out for all four games and you got swept out of the playoffs you wouldn't have used that as an excuse? that wouldn't ever happen.... buttman would have the finals postponed until both were well rested. thank GOD cindy is okay after that wicked slash because i don't want game 5 any farther away than it is! Detroit # 1 Fan 2,204 Report post Posted June 5, 2009 Great news. With the matchups in our favor like Games 1 and 2, I expect Datsyuk to have a huge impact.

CenterIce 83 Report post Posted June 5, 2009 This coming from a group of "fans" who attributed Dupuis' stick breaking in Game 2 to the fact that the "home team supplies the sticks" and that, because of this, Detroit tampered with those supplied to Pittsburgh. Really? If this is true, I am amazed that they could even type out the posts.

I'm just looking forward to the end of all the excuse-making that's cropped up since the Pens won a game or two. This is an absolute lie and beyond credibility. If you bothered to read the posts on this board after the game last night the overwhelming majority of them said the Wings got outplayed. PERIOD. I'm just looking forward to the end of your visiting here, acting nice, and then doing your cutesy, OF-COURSE-YOU'RE-NOT-baiting, passive-aggressive bulls***. Could we get an answer to this one? HUH? Or do you just plan to go on ignoring pointed questions and throwing in your smiley faces with your passive-aggressive bulls***? Thing is, those 55 short-term fans along with their 18,000 others probably have never seen Pavel when he's even 75%, let alone 100%. They haven't been watching that long. But even if he's at 50% and can defend against Malkin, it would make my night. I'm so proud of him for even attempting to go, especially if he did actually break a bone in his foot. It's even more sickening than the open kind because at least they're not trying to hide it with comments that invariably contradict themselves....that come out to be nothing more than baiting/flaming. He's just more tactful in the way he baits but it's readily apparent that he is trying incite anger as much as any of the other trolls here. He trolls with a thin veneer of sincerity. Exactly. BewareThePenguin just shows up posts stuff he can back up, gets challenged on it and then never answers then acts as if he just sincerely wants to have a discussion about hockey. He is the worst kind of troll because he does it 95% of the time but then throws in obvious and undeniable compliments about the Wings so that he can pretend that he is rational and analyzing fairly, acting as if the way he acts the 5% of the time is his real nature and ignoring or feigning ignorant about the 95%. BuckeyeWingsfan80 209 Report post Posted June 5, 2009 I'm not going to hold my breath. I'm wondering that, IF this were the regular season, would Datsyuk even be skating on it? Given that it's the playoffs he's coming back at some point I'm guessing. My guess is probably not and he would have had his foot in a boot.
