Detroit # 1 Fan 2,204 Report post Posted June 21, 2009 I'd take any of them in a heartbeat except Legace. Bertuzzi is an interesting one, but I doubt that would happen. My top choices would be Madden/Lappy/Neil, but like I said, any of them is fine.
Guest Crymson Report post Posted June 21, 2009 (edited) This is a "free-agent targets?" article, not a "likely to sign with the Wings" piece. It is pure speculation by the Freep. It's silly, too---why on earth would we want Bertuzzi, Dandenault, Legace etc.? Edited June 21, 2009 by Crymson

Casey 145 Report post Posted June 21, 2009 Lapierre, Neil and Bouwmeester would be interesting moves. I don't want anything to do with Dandenault, Bertuzzi or Legacé.
Wings_Toledo 233 Report post Posted June 21, 2009 The last three are just ridiculous. Legace's days are completely over in Detroit, Bertuzzi has nothing left to offer and Dandenault wouldn't be an upgrade over anyone the Wings currently have on the roster. I'm liking the idea of Laperriere more and more, though. I hope Holland at least gives him an offer.
theman19 47 Report post Posted June 21, 2009 no way larose leaves the canes, he's just coming into his own on that club. Not to many people on that list even make any sense,......
Snazzy 0 Report post Posted June 21, 2009 I don't foresee Holland making any moves this off season other than bringing up some griffins to fill holes. (depending on the Hossa situation). If Hossa doesn't resign, expect to see Sammy and Hudler and a AHL player on the roster next season.
VikingMark 5 Report post Posted June 21, 2009 Not that I have any interest in Dandenault's returning to the Red Wings .. .. but I just LOVED the photo of him in that list; http://www.freep.com/apps/pbcs.dll/gallery...Params=Itemnr=
therock48880 14 Report post Posted June 21, 2009 When I read articles like this, it makes me think that my 11 year old son should be a writer for the Freep. Common sense needs to play a role here. If Hossa doesn't sign, I can't imagine the Wings going after a top line D-man. As much as I'd love to see Boumeester or even Kopecky's buddy Francois, I can't see Holland signing them with Ericsson and, to a lesser extent, Kindl ready for increased roles. I must admit that Lappy is a bit intriguing, though.
Gutierrez 7 Report post Posted June 21, 2009 lol at Legace coming here. The most ridiculous one is Beauchemin, there is no way the Ducks let him walk especially with Niedavacation aging and Pronger possibly getting traded and also getting older. They also suggest a few of those players playing on the fourth line but there isn't any room unless we dump Draper or Maltby which I don't see us doing. datterberg1340 626 Report post Posted June 21, 2009 Most of those guys would not be a good idea at all and some are way out of our price range, though 2 players from that list I'd like would be Lappy or Neil, either one would provide something that we do need- someone to protect our star players; all playoffs long the other team took liberties with our stars and none of them ever really had to answer for it- like Talbot slashing Datsyuk in game 5, in that situation the game was already over for all intents and purposes, so I guess he figured he'd get a shot in, which is a reason the "our powerplay is our enforcer" mentality doesn't always work, and 'ol Maxine never had to answer for it, no one really did anything to him A player I think deserves a chance is Downey(since we're not likely to get anyone from that list anyway), he would be cheaper than all the others and has proven to be useful in the past, plus he's had a great attitude about dealing with the two-way contract situation at his age, which is still not all that old(34 I think); I know he's not going to score, but we don't need every player on the roster for that, that's what the stars are supposed to do, we can't have all our players be a "jack of all trades, master of none"

Actually, I would say odds are Beauchemin wont be back with the Ducks, and he'll go to Montreal.

Hockeytown0001 7,652 Report post Posted June 21, 2009 Not that I wouldn't like it, but I'd be suprised to see Ian Laperierre in a Wings jersey next season.
luvmnger 125 Report post Posted June 21, 2009 hossa will take a decent cut in pay....he's not going to make the wings drop talent to keep him, and he is going to feel bad for his lack of production, i almost want to say he's going to sign for another 1 year and re-negotiate late season like franz did. i say dump kopay and samuelsson and go after neil. bring up helm full-time and rotate draps/malts with abby and downey. lappy here would really seem weird...like bertuzzi did. ummm.....no. elriqo28 2 Report post Posted June 22, 2009 The last three are just ridiculous. Legace's days are completely over in Detroit you know by saying that, Holland will now sign him. It just always seems to work that way. But honestly, I think it will either be Conklin as backup (if he decides to stay) or Jimmy. Jimmy is probably the cheapest option...not that I am at all keen on him. (watch him in GR a lot...good, but not great)
