I always liked how literal Russian transcription from Latin alphabet is and how funny it sounds when pronounced with deep Slavic accent. though, basically all languages have rules of transcription from foreign alphabets or languages which are based on sounds. Dutch has Oekraine or Poetin (that would be Ucraine/Putin if someone asks ) and English have Sikorsky (whereas the name is of Polish origin and is normally spelled "Sikorski" in latin alphabet)... now back to the topic... let him have it. he won it, right?
