Glubki 17 Report post Posted June 26, 2009 E.J. Hradek: Dallas offers Matt Niskanen & 8th overall pick for Tomas Kaberle. If Dallas offered that I'd hop all over it. Kaberle is a good defenseman but the #8 and a young D-man for Kaberle?

rick zombo 3,739 Report post Posted June 26, 2009 E.J. Hradek: Dallas offers Matt Niskanen & 8th overall pick for Tomas Kaberle. Holy s***. Unless someone has a better offer, Burke would be foolish not to take this package: - he unloads Kaberle's salary before UFA season starts July first, giving him even more money to spend - he has two top 10 picks - he gets a 22 year old, Kaberle-style, player in return who had 36pts as a rookie in 08/09 Of course, Burke being the raging pr#ck that he is will probably ask if he can punch one of Nieuwendyk's kids, just to sweeten the deal
webwing91 4 Report post Posted June 26, 2009 (edited) Does anyone think that the Coyotes trading the 6th pick, and maybe prospect or two for Phil Kessel is realistic/a good idea? Boston needs to unload some salary and would get some great prospects (Phx is loaded in that department) and Phoenix needs young, NHL ready players badly as they won't be doing much in the free agent market. Boston could get Jared Cowan and have 2 Chara style players in a few years. Edited June 26, 2009 by webwing91

BlakKy 58 Report post Posted June 26, 2009 Facts are that large markets create tons of rumours and GMs either learn to use rumours to their advantage or they overpay for players.
Detroit # 1 Fan 2,204 Report post Posted June 26, 2009 Burke should be all over that trade. A young defenceman who can play top 4 minutes for TO, it'd get him another top 10 pick. Like, that one is perfect.
Glubki 17 Report post Posted June 26, 2009 McCabe was gone long before Burke was hired. That's right - it was Fletcher. same smoke - different signal blower...
BlakKy 58 Report post Posted June 26, 2009 I hope the Leafs can nab Brayden Schenn. Would really give the Leafs some identity again.
MacK_Attack 108 Report post Posted June 26, 2009 Bob McKenzie says that Boston has upped the ante in the Kaberle sweeps. It's now Phil Kessel and a draft pick for Kaberle.
RainingBlood 8 Report post Posted June 26, 2009 These are all from Darren Dreger... - Florida is expected to trade the rights to Jay Bouwmeester today/tonight. - Leafs are getting close to trading Tomas Kaberle, with Boston offering Phil Kessel. Burke expected to continue to take offers until at least later on tonight. Kaberle loses his no-trade clause at 7pm tonight. - Tampa Bay has said they are keeping the 2nd overall pick and are not taking offers for Lecavalier. More to come! EDIT: - Rival GM calls Ottawa's asking price for Heatley: "Outrageous" Nice deal for the Leafs
skacore 2 Report post Posted June 26, 2009 I really hope the Leafs are able to land one of Kane/Schenn and then Kassian with a later pick, that'd be awesome

evilmrt 636 Report post Posted June 26, 2009 Kenny - give'em the rights to Hudler, & Filppula It would be worth it if Hedman was ranked a little lower. I swear, Burke better make a good move here. I see Boston wasn't making a good offer, so he should take the Dallas offer instead.
