PS. Lilja and Ritola are Finnish names too even though they are Swedish fellows.
Lilja is a Swedish name. Means lilly.

Edit: Oh, it means the same in Finnish too, just checked it out. It's probably a loan word, though. Sweden used to rule Finland.

Probably just MPS like GPS or something like that.

I actually don't like "Hank," the anglicized nickname of Zetterberg. I always refer to him as Z.

There was a Finnish Formula 1 driver in the 90's called Jyrki Järvilehto. He went by the name J. J. Lehto abroad.

...I'm too stupid to get this one right now. Is that a shot at him being soft or...?

Don't you remember those TV commercials where a guy is in the mountains and calls out an echoing "Ricola!" "Ricola!"?

Ok, that was so unexpected that it brought tears of laughter. Thanks, man.

Thanks :) I'm glad my humour is appreciated.

No let's pray the Wings take a chance and get Rajajajajaja

That kid might have the most pure offensive talent in the draft... he just needs the body of an adult man.

Oh, I didn't know that it's the same in Swedish. I'm Finnish... Many Finns escaped the second WW to Sweden. I think Ritola at least could be related to these immigrants.

Oh God... I hope he pans out just so we can hear that at the Joe every time he scores a goal or kills a penalty.

And I was a little young during those commercials so I'll give myself a break. I recommend the honey herb cough drops. It's like eating candy while sick.

It's interesting how different the languages are, Swedish/Finnish. Actually, I'm not sure about this, is Finnish in the same language family as Swedish?

Finish is in the family of its own. there are said to be some similarities with Estonian, Hungarian

and Basque (I'm not sure, though) but if you ever heard any of them you'd never guess.

Swedish is a Germanic language.

Nope. Finns have Eastern European ancestors while Swedes are related to Middle Europeans. Languages of Estonia and Hungary are similar to Finnish. Swedish is closer to English and probably this why Finns usually have thicker accents.

No. Swedish is the same language family as German and such languages. Finnish is basically in it's own category, different from almost anything else.

Weird move by the Isles. They could have probably picked the same guy with their 16th pick. Guess they didn't feel like waiting around.

Didn't suspect as much. They sound nothing alike.

Ok, so you're the NY Islanders. You've got the #16 pick and like a guy who's projected to go in the 20-25 range.

Why the hell would you trade UP to #12 to pick Mr. 20-25?

Were there really rumours he'd go in the 12-15 range among the people on the floor? If so is that because the people on the floor like yanking the Islanders around?

Actually most of the Finns living in Sweden these days went there looking for job in the 50s and 60s. Finns don't flee from wars.

Hells yeah, I love the Ricola cough drops. I always think of Ritola when I see them now :P
