dat's sick 1,002 Report post Posted July 1, 2009 Basically Hossa's cap hit the next 2 years is 6.4 Mil.
Aussie_Wing 354 Report post Posted July 1, 2009 Why do we have to turn on all the guys that leave Detroit? I, for one, will miss you Kopecky. We have greater propects waiting in the wings so it doesn't make this much of a loss but I appreciate everything you did for the organisation. Good luck with the Hawks. uk_redwing 495 Report post Posted July 1, 2009 I don't think he'll fit on their roster, though, since they like to have physical players on their 4th line. Thats crazy. A 4th line is for a goals against line.

Decoy Jones 0 Report post Posted July 1, 2009 Probert, Lapointe, Williams, Lang, Hossa, Kopecky. Does Chicago just look at our roster and try to take anyone? By tomorrow morning Sammy will have signed and Hudler will have an offer sheet.

T.Low 1,011 Report post Posted July 1, 2009 (edited) So sad. Maybe Hossa told Kenny the only way he stays is if Tomas stays, Kenny said hell no, Hossa left and went to the first team that would take him and Tomas. Chicago bent over and said sure Marian. Thats exactly how it went down. Yeah, thats kinda weird. You kinda get the feeling that Hossa's girlfriend said something like "You get me a modeling contract in Chicago and you can play with that Kopesky boy all you want!". The Secret 304 Report post Posted July 1, 2009 Oh this is such good news... Kopecky was such a wasted roster spot, I am so happy he is gone. Who was worse? Kopecky or Boyd the Void Devereaux?
titanium2 867 Report post Posted July 1, 2009 Oh this is such good news... Kopecky was such a wasted roster spot, I am so happy he is gone. Who was worse? Kopecky or Boyd the Void Devereaux? Boyd in 2002 played with energy. Kopecky really milked the bad knee excuse.
uk_redwing 495 Report post Posted July 1, 2009 Anyone else catch on TSN when Pierre said "Kopecky is going to be a useful player as well" there was an awkward silence followed by a single "yeh..." Was great
titanium2 867 Report post Posted July 1, 2009 Anyone else catch on TSN when Pierre said "Kopecky is going to be a useful player as well" there was an awkward silence followed by a single "yeh..." Was great HAHAHA... Oh man... I'm sorry I missed that. They're just trying to tout the team that has Kane and Toews and now Hossa. It's all shallow publicity. The Big Red Machine 0 Report post Posted July 1, 2009 I'm not surprised that Kopecky followed Hossa. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if Kopecky being signed was a condition to signing Hossa. We all know how buddy, buddy they are. The Blackhawks are making a run for the Cup this year and are going to implode under the cap next year.
russianswede919293 95 Report post Posted July 1, 2009 So just wanna say Hossa is actually a 6.4 mill cap hit because you need to count Kopey too.
zata20 4 Report post Posted July 1, 2009 I thought this would give you guys a laugh. (quote from hawks fan on ESPN forum). "But on a side note everyone is buzzing about Hossa when there failing to mention Tomas Kopecky who I think is a fanatstic player and has alot of skill and leadership to help my HAWKS out so I am pretty stoked about him.. BlackhawksFan 4 Report post Posted July 1, 2009 "This has to be a joke" First thing I said when I saw the Hawks' only signing today are Wings players. That's what Scotty is here for, to bring his kind of players into the fold...right?

cusimano_brothers 1,655 Report post Posted July 1, 2009 That's quite a raise; he's got two years to prove he's worth even part of it. After that, he might become Hossa's chauffeur.

BlackhawksFan 4 Report post Posted July 1, 2009 I'm kind of stunned at this reaction to this. Almost universal contempt for Kopecky. You know what us Hawks' fans are saying? "Good signing!" "Adds a more physical edge." "Upgrade over Pahlsson, that's for sure." Thanks for the other perspective.
