ComradeWasabi 109 Report post Posted September 2, 2009 Chris Neil - Jerome Iginla - Steve Ott... All are gritty enforcers who can put the puck in the net Pronger - Komisarek Emery Ummm, I would say Iginla is a little more than a gritty enforcer who can put the puck in the net. Most enforcers don't score 50 goals.
Drake_Marcus 890 Report post Posted September 2, 2009 Fun thread..mine would look something like this: Jordin Tootoo-Chris Kunitz-Sean Avery Steve Ott-Claude Lemieux-Alex Burrows Matt Cooke-Theoren Fleury-Patrick Kaleta Jarkko Ruutu-Scott Hartnell-Cal Clutterbuck Chris Pronger-Brooks Orpik Dion Phaneuf-Adam Foote Denis Gauthier-Francois Bauchemin Ron Hextall Just looking at that lineup makes me wanna say f*** it,and just take the instigator penalty anyway. Jesus. That line up would set a single season PIM record, no question.

Pavel Hossyukstrom 2 Report post Posted September 2, 2009 (edited) Team Canada 2010! It might be the scariest team ever assembled.... hand picked by Stevie and lead by Coach Babcock. I personally can't wait to see how they fair but if I were any other team I'd be trembling! Except Team Russia. Goaltenders Ilya Bryzgalov (Phoenix Coyotes) Alexander Eremenko (Salavat Yulaev Ufa, KHL) Evgeni Nabokov (San Jose Sharks) Simeon Varlamov (Washington Capitals) Defensemen Vitali Atyushov (Metallurg Magnitogorsk, KHL) Sergei Gonchar (Pittsburgh Penguins) Denis Grebeshkov (Edmonton Oilers) Dmitri Kalinin (Salavat Yulaev Ufa, KHL) Maxim Kondratiev (Salavat Yulaev Ufa, KHL) Konstantin Korneyev (CSKA Moscow, KHL) Andrei Markov (Montreal Canadiens) Ilya Nikulin (Ak Bars Kazan, KHL) Vitali Proshkin (Salavat Yulaev Ufa, KHL) Oleg Tverdovsky (Salavat Yulaev Ufa, KHL) Fedor Tyutin (Columbus Blue Jackets) Vitali Vishnevsky (Lokomotiv Yaroslavl, KHL) Anton Volchenkov (Ottawa Senators) Alexei Zhitnik (Dynamo Moscow, KHL) Sergei Zubov (Dallas Stars) Forwards Evgeny Artyukhin (Tampa Bay Lightning) Maxim Afinogenov (Buffalo Sabres) Konstantin Gorovikov (SKA St. Petersburg, KHL) Pavel Datsyuk (Detroit Red Wings) Danis Zaripov (Ak Bars Kazan, KHL) Sergei Zinoviev (Salavat Yulaev Ufa, KHL) Alexei Kovalev (Ottawa Senators) Ilya Kovalchuk (Atlanta Thrashers) Viktor Kozlov (Salavat Yulaev Ufa, KHL) Nikolai Kulemin (Toronto Maple Leafs) Evgeni Malkin (Pittsburgh Penguins) Alexei Morozov (Ak Bars Kazan, KHL) Alex Ovechkin (Washington Capitals) Alexander Radulov (Salavat Yulaev Ufa, KHL) Oleg Saprykin (Dynamo Moscow, KHL) Alexander Semin (Washington Capitals) Alexei Tereschenko (Ak Bars Kazan, KHL) Sergei Fedorov (Metallurg Magnitogorsk, KHL) Alexander Frolov (Los Angeles Kings) Edited September 2, 2009 by Pavel Hossyukstrom
Drake_Marcus 890 Report post Posted September 2, 2009 Except Team Russia. Expect your defense to be porous. Also expect the political motivation behind placing so many KHL players on the camp roster to be questioned heavily if it results in an equal split of NHL/KHL players on the final roster. We could almost ice a competitive team from those cut from the roster and with our almost Olympians..... not to mention its on our turf this year! Good luck to the rest of the World.... try the BC buds while your in town, it might help lessen the fear.

Guest micah Report post Posted September 2, 2009 Not really the same. What exactly is Pittsburgh famous for? Fried Zucchini Strips? Detroit more widely known around the world because of things like the auto industry (whether it's good or bad it still resides in Detroit) and other things like Motown music, even if it did move to LA, its fundamentals were born in Detroit. Sure today the outlook isn't so great but there is no way Detroit is as worthless as Pittsburgh. Not even close. The Economist named Pittsburgh 2009's most livable city in the United States. I bet most Pittsburghians spend a fair chunk of their day wishing that their city used to be known for building cars instead of used to be known for making steel. Many Pittsburgh tears have certainly been shed over the fact that Motown was founded in (and later fled) Detroit instead of Pittsburgh. I know I certainly wish my city was former hom to Motown. I think about that alot.
