RedWingsRox 614 Report post Posted September 25, 2009 Another conversation that will take place on the ice tonight: Lidstrom, Franzen, Homstrom, Kronwall, Ericsson all skate by Gustavsson and say, 'Dude, after this year, come and play for us, the most Swedish friendly team in the NHL!' ... in Swedish of course. We could never afford him, if he has a good year he will be asking for the big bucks. And if I know anything about hockey this kid is going to be a monster this year. P. Marlowe 748 Report post Posted September 25, 2009 Am I missing something? Because we do have cap space next year, more than this year at least. Where does the cap space come from? I'd be surprised if the cap went up.
55fan 5,133 Report post Posted September 25, 2009 Where does the cap space come from? I'd be surprised if the cap went up. Homer, Malts and Lids are finished with their current contracts. Malts will probably retire. Homer may, depending on this season. Lids will sign for a lower price, which LGW places anywhere from $5 million/year to a bag of Cheetoes.
