Rivalred 630 Report post Posted September 28, 2009 Just got back from the game... Was entertaining as it was my 1st preseason game ever. 1st line was on fire tonight, especially during the PP.
edicius 3,269 Report post Posted September 28, 2009 (edited) And about that bit about May being released, Bruce MacLeod just clarified it further: Clarification on Brad May. He has to be released from the Wings to sign a PTO with Grand Rapids. Expect that. So if anything, he'd be a GR signing and even that requires a PTO first. Z and D for the C 712 Report post Posted September 28, 2009 Was able to go to the game today. Howard I thought looked really awesome, he played great. Along with Williams.
skyphoenix 153 Report post Posted September 28, 2009 It was satisfying seeing Howard play well for a full 60 minutes. Im hoping he can keep that kind of play up.
esteef 2,679 Report post Posted September 28, 2009 Williams and Eaves both looked good I thought. Ritola should've whipped Godard's ass though! Good win boys! esteef
Jaymz99 2 Report post Posted September 28, 2009 I used to have some respect for this man years ago, but after last season and tonight, Bill Guerin's a *****. So when we see the Pens again later this season, we need to treat him like one.
moocat 1 Report post Posted September 28, 2009 I still have no faith in hi, partly because I didn't see any saves this game. I was back and forth watching it and it was choppy as hell, the only good thing I saw was Williams SICK deke. Howard stopped 25 of 26 shots, stopped a breakaway and a penalty shot. Whether you saw it or not it was a pretty damn good effort by J-Ho and was nice to see, and will hopefully lead to more outings like it.

Don't get me wrong, he did well tonight, but one night doesn't erase all the other games he's played. Not to mention Pens scorers were not playing.
Guest Shoreline Report post Posted September 28, 2009 (edited) I'm Canadian, and I grew up playing and participating in some of the dirtiest, ugliest hockey you could ever imagine, but I'd call myself a liar if I didn't point out that you whiny sons of ******* are some of the most annoying f***s I have ever had to read drivel from in my entire life. This is our team, take it or leave it. If they're not what you're looking for, then get the f*** out. Thank you. And always the same people on the same spiel, eh? I had read through most of the topic and was looking for a rather fun postgame series of posts until the same people couldn't just shut the f*** up and enjoy a win. Dynheart 42 Report post Posted September 28, 2009 Missed the game, is there by chance a site that has the game up via a recording? Sounds like I missed a good game. I would appreciate it if someone can link it for me, if there is one even out there. Thanks!

Snazzy 0 Report post Posted September 28, 2009 (edited) Howard was sensational tonight. J Willy was a force. Franzen IS the beast. Leino, we got him for $800 per year? Wow! He's amazing! Dats is dats. Ralfi with 4 assists, right? wow Ericsson was impressive. I think he's going to have a very bright and lasting future with the Red Wings. Ritola had a solid game overall Eaves was good. Ryno is showing signs, I hope he decides to play in the AHL, I think he has potential. The other kids had some nice spurts. Delmore and Kindl have a solid shot. J Willy and Howard made me happy tonight. Meech is horrible. Snazzy's scouting report brought to you by dunkin donuts and the church of jesus christ. Jaymz99 2 Report post Posted September 28, 2009 I think you have things all backwards How so? I hope that was sarcasm. He was supposed to be the veteran mentor to these younger guys on the Pens, and yet he still acts as though he is a testosterone driven twenty year old (probably because he is surrounded by them all the time). He needs to remove himself from those situations, but instead he is always in the thick of them. If he thought it was a good idea to get on top of a player with another teammate and throw punches at an opposing teams player while he's down on the ice, then he has a serious decision making problem. dat's sick 1,002 Report post Posted September 28, 2009 Well its the only thing our teams lacks. You're never perfect and thats the one thing we can improve on, so why not add a Brad May type. If you think Boogard doesn't intimidate other teams then you're sorely mistaken. I guess all of us pro-physical hockey advocates just became fans at the wrong time (around 1997). Unlike some of the fans here who have been fans since 2008 and others from the Scandinavian countries who became fans when Detroit picked up so many Swedes after 1997. I think it's funny how everyone here assumes to know why others are fans and when they became fans.
Electrophile 3,554 Report post Posted September 28, 2009 (edited) Kunitz and Cooke need to receive the Steve Moore treatment. Classy. I'm sure if fans of some other team said that Pavel Datsyuk deserved the "Steve Moore treatment", you'd fall into a coma. Anywho, it was great to see the Wings pull this off. Beating the Pens is always satisfying, no matter when the game is played. Edited September 28, 2009 by Electrophile
