The PK looked good.

The PP looked good.

The depth looked good (although I'd love to have seen the Finn line score once).

The Wizard of Oz looked good.

The WINGS looked good.

Plus it looks like Ericsson is playing at a point per game if you count the fact that he's only lasted half the game in the first and third games Hopefully he's fine after that blocked shot injury. He's tough as hell, so I'm sure he'll be fine. Still-- a goal and an assist in your first three games as a rookie d-man on the third pairing is DAMN GOOD.

I've been calling him that, mostly to myself. Big E was Eric Lindros... but I guess since he's gone, Jonny can be called that, eh?

Other Red Wings teammates call him that. Apparently they called him Big Rig in Grand Rapids back in 07 but he wasn't a huge fan of that nickname.

I wouldn't say that. They seemed out of sync and unable to complete passes and get the puck up ice for most of the game. Flip's line was the only line that was able to get anything going at even strength, and in doing so drew a bunch of penalties that led to two PP goals.

They can be waaaay better, and they'll need to be.

I agree. I don't understand how Zetterberg was voted by fans to be the best player as he's had lots of troubles getting his passes on tape. Of course he was good especially in PK, but I wouldn't say he was the best Wing tonight.

Was it more of a meaningless staged thing by a guy trying to earn his keep? Or was he actually sticking up for his teammates out there?

He did fine. He took a bigger and younger guy down, but I wasn't sure if anything specific caused it. So I was praying he wouldn't get an instigator penalty.

2) Draper gets going.. Nice to see him score early in the season.....maybe he keeps it going

I have a feeling that I am going to fall in love with May just like I did with Downey. I hope that he does not get sent down because I think that he will be a good fit on the team.

Thoughts on the game:

- Ozzie was fantastic tonight. If you ask me, he was the first star.

- Hilarious goal by Nick, but a goal is a goal, so I'm not complaining.

- That was one hell of a shot by Drapes to beat Huet. We need more of that.

- Did anyone else love seeing Kopecky get run over by Stu? f*** yes.

- May did a nice job, both with the gloves on and off. Nice having him around.

- The penalty kill still needs work, but that was a great 5-on-3 kill.

- We still look slow, sloppy, and lost out there, but a win is a win.
