Sportsnet broadcasters saying the Europe trip put the Wings at a disadvantage and while teams normally allow 10 games or so to assess their performance the Wings need 20 thanks to that trip. Also said the coaches of the last European trip don't have many favorable things to say following it. *shrugs*

Man, two awful goals by Osgood.

This team can't seem to get its feet under it. If it's not one thing (like offense), it's another (like goaltending).

Glad to see ZDH back together. I think it's the right move with the Wings limited offense.

These team needs to kick into playoff mode. Whatever switch Ozzy flipped last playoffs, he needs to find it. Stuart and Kronwall need to look for some huge hits to get this team fired up. and EVERYBODY needs to start crashing the net.

Flips line doesn't look too bad, but they mostly do fly-bys on offense. If they don't score on the first shot, that's it, because they're all circling around behind the net.

Babcock needs to get these guys thinking its playoff time.

No we couldn't have been up 3-0 with luck....osgood would have still fallen asleep on 2 shots and let them in so it'd be 3-2...we'd still be leading though

I was just gonna say before the goal: if ZDH don't show up after this start I'm gonna start losing faith. Good thing they immediately did.

Also: Flip has looked ******* fantastic so far. Great puck control, great passing, great speed. Gotta say so far that line with Cleary and Bert is looking good. Leino and Filppula were good together but rarely amounted to much in terms of actual scoring chances, but already this line has created some.

But: SOMEONE OTHER THAN HOMER OR THE GRINDERS NEED TO SCORE. Hank? That breakaway needs to be a goal dude.

That line didn't struggle to get scoring chances they struggled to get goals (after the first 4 games... before then they were scoring just fine).

i believe this Wings team can be very dangerous but it absolutely depends on guys like Bertuzzi, Williams, and Cleary contributing (especially with the absense of franzen)

were only down 1 after 1, lets keep the good momentum from the 2nd half of the first period.
