Finnish Wing 110 Report post Posted November 3, 2009 I would love to see Kenny call 1-800-hansons and get Jeremy Roenick locked up for a bit of this season Or even better call 1-800 CALL SAM and get us the hottest stuff in the market - Richard Bernstein. stevkrause 1,247 Report post Posted November 3, 2009 Someone mentioned Andy Sutton. I wouldn't mind him, Michigan Tech bias, but he can be a bit injury prone. I would love to see Sutton here...

stevkrause 1,247 Report post Posted November 3, 2009 Make that Leino instead of Williams and water bottle instead of bottles. I don't get it... I wasn't for it before the year started, but what the hell is wrong with some of the Williams haters - he has played OUTSTANDING for us thus far, especially considering his price tag.... StevieY9802 6 Report post Posted November 3, 2009 yeah wings fans would love lehtonen until he gets injured for the hundredth time I think IF they add a goalie, it will likely be Biron. That is if DiPietro can stay healthy for more than 2 games. exactly - his biggest problem is his durability, but with an expiring contract, if it doesn't work, let him walk at season's end... I think it'd be a safe, high payoff gamble to take if it worked... on another note, Biron would be a nice option as a backup as well... If it's a goalie I think it'll be Biron. Going back to Lehtonen. Yeah expiring contract but wouldn't you want someone to backup Osgood who doesn't have a history of injuries? He comes in, gets hurt and then you are right back with Jimmy Howard. A defenman would be nice as someone said to replace Lilja. He doesn't seem to be coming back. And while Lebda's speed is nice I would rather have a Lilja type dman in there. So many people want a deal now but the longer they wait the more cap space they have which means more salary they can take on.
mjlegend 155 Report post Posted November 3, 2009 I think IF they add a goalie, it will likely be Biron. That is if DiPietro can stay healthy for more than 2 games. Lehtonen it is, then. Actually, if we could pick a player, I wouldn't mind Aaron Ward, giving up Lebda and a medium pick the other way. Maybe with Bowman out of the picture he'd be willing to come back as a rental. Carman 387 Report post Posted November 3, 2009 God you're stupid. : D Nah, I was pretty much joking. Williams is practically Leino, but can actually play the point on the pp.
StevieY9802 6 Report post Posted November 4, 2009 Kari Lehtonen is gone another 6-8 weeks with his second back surgery. Anyone still think the Wings should trade for him because he has an expiring contract?

I don't really know I just wanted to contribute to this thread becasue it looks like a good one. We'd still have to give them more than that - even with his health problems, but could get him for way less than otherwise if he hadn't had to have 2 back surgeries... since it is an expiring contract and he's coming off the injury though, it might be a nice gamble - because if it works out, you get an ELITE goaltender for cheap (Howard, Lebda or Meech and a mid to late level draft pick for Lehtonen and a prospect or pick)
