When you get your ass handed to you over and over again 15 years straight you are going to be excited when you do well against them for once. And "doing well" is a gigantic understatement.

Detroit is playing like crap, Howard is getting boned by this team, and the Wings are making Jmmy D laugh look like the smartest man alive.

The goaltending has "looked good" in a number of "down by a goal or two after one period" games this season. If they can't score, it doesn't really matter HOW GOOD the goaltending "looks".

And for f***'s sake, the Wings just need to stop shooting. Period. No more shots. Just pass it, turn it over, then take the center ice faceoff. 200+ shots vs 100 and we've not scored one ******* goal. Why do the analysts have to ask why they aren't scoring with so many shots? They are logo hunters, with approximately zero ******* screens, taken from absolute s*** angles and telegraphing passes, it doesn't take a ******* genius to figure out why they aren't scoring. And then you have s***ty players with no clue, kids who should still be in the AHL, and you have a recipe for disaster. If they are going to tank the season, they are well on their way. They just need to press a little harder to lose so that Carolina can catch up and we can get a #1 pick.

Aside from that 4th line shift, I think that was one of the worst periods I have ever seen this team play. They look so vulnerable. The Blues are skating circles around our best players in our own zone.

Kariya spends the game on the end of the bench singing "The Maple Leaf Forever". Dats gets a natural hat trick, a Gordie Howe hat trick, and kicks Bertuzzi's butt so hard during the second intermission that Bertuzzi scores his own hat trick in the third just to make Pavel happy.

The Wings win 7-1.

Who cares about the Penguins? Separate conference, separate division. Worry about your own team and less on all the others. If people being optimistic and refusing to whine and ***** all the time is enough to make you jump ship, then you were going to do it anyway, regardless of what anyone here says.
