hooon 1,089 Report post Posted December 3, 2009 The vagueness of this post annoys me. edit: If you are implying that Columbus-detroit is anywhere near Chicago-detroit, then how intelligent is that? Haha no... I was addressing everything else actually. I'm not sure where you got this whole Columbus thing from, but nobody ever implied that, so give it up. Go back and read your own post if you must. If you don't see the idiocy therein, well, I'm afraid I can't help you. Nobody here is sure why you are still posting. As others have noted, if you bring some intelligent hockey discussion to the threads, than that is fine... otherwise, pursue other forums, please.

Who hasn't dominated the Tigers during most of the 90s and early 00s? I would trade Kindl for Versteeg. *dodges rotten tomatoes* Edited December 3, 2009 by dragonballgtz
Theophany 110 Report post Posted December 3, 2009 Debatable. Not really when you lose 4/5 games and get outscored 19-10, to be frank. Just sayin'.
titanium2 867 Report post Posted December 3, 2009 Not really when you lose 4/5 games and get outscored 19-10, to be frank. Just sayin'. He'll then say that two of the wins required overtime and that even though they lost one game by 3 and another by 5 that those two OT games are proof enough that they didn't get handled easily. Namingway 146 Report post Posted December 3, 2009 The last time the Hawks won the cup : 1961 Hmmmmm... Well on the bright side, maybe if you guys win it in 2011 it'll be just on time for the 50th year golden anniversary of failure.
teebo 22 Report post Posted December 3, 2009 damn you guys are getting trolled hard. this isnt last year and right now the hawks have a good team and a pretty good future. i hate when people bring up the past to rip on a team, just means you cant say anything about their current team. Guest Blackhawkdown Report post Posted December 3, 2009 Jealousy brings out such anger in Red Wing fans. All I heard before these three signed was that we would never be able to sign all three. A lot of people on this very board said that. So what happens when we get them signed? They change it up and say we wont be able to sign anyone else. Simple fact is the Hawks have signed their core players and the Red Wings are going to have to deal with the Hawks for years to come. And that sacres the hell out of some of you. Making any excuse so you can sleep better at night.

Making any excuse so you can sleep better at night. Some fans are scared no doubt. But most of us are just damn curious about how this will all work out due to the tagging rule and salary cap. I don't think that's as much looking for excuses as it is just general curiousity. I look forward to having to actually compete with a team in our division. We really haven't had a rival since St. Louis a long time ago. It's going to be good for both teams.
Guest VAL FILPPULA Report post Posted December 3, 2009 Why do Hawks fans keep telling us we are scared? I don't know about the rest of you, but I sure as hell am not scared of Chicago. The fact of the matter is that a healthy Detroit team is better than a healthy Chicago team. Go ahead, try and dispute that. Do Chicago fans not realize that our current injury list includes: Johan Franzen (goal scoring galore), Valtteri Filppula (top six forward and great defensive forward), Andreas Lilja (arguably one of our best PK'ers), Jason Williams (right handed shot on the PP), and Niklas Kronwall (top four defenseman and if you can't remember who he is, he is the one who knocked one of your boys out on one of the best CLEAN open-ice hits I have ever seen. The Problem with you Hawks fans is for one year you think you have a shot, so you all come out from under the rock you've been hiding under since idk, 1961? You don't seem to realize that right now all your team has is talent. Congratulations you are San Jose plus what Kopecky? Theres some depth right there. What do you think you will get to the cup by scoring 6 goals a game, just wait until the playoffs and we'll see how many goals a game you guys put up, but I guess that isn't the end of the ice I would be worried about if I were you. Solid goaltending is the key to winning cups. If you think Huet is going to get you there then you might have bigger problems than slight delusion. But, go ahead and talk all the s*** you want about the Blackhawks, because we all know what sport you're going to be playing in mid-spring, and it isn't hockey

Making any excuse so you can sleep better at night. Jealous of what? Having s*** the bed ever since 1961 with an average attendance for years until 2008 of less than 9,000 per game and having to tank several times to recieve two high picks ala Pittsburgh? Nobody here is jealous of Chicago. You'll find the majority of posters here respect the talent they have and are now able to look at Chicago as a legitimate sports franchise, something nobody has been able to do in years. And sorry, but the simple fact is that Chicago is going to have to unload a big portion of its depth in order to handle these signings. That's just the reality of the situation, unless we all missed something and the cap was raised by $20 million overnight. Unless you can acknowledge that your team is going to have to greatly sacrifice in order to facilitate keeping the big three plus Hossa around, then you're no more intelligent than the fans who started watching hockey 2 years ago and foam at the mouth while shrieking "Detroit sucks!!" when you're not even playing us. thedatsyukian 7 Report post Posted December 3, 2009 (edited) These trolls bring a smile to my face. I personally love the fascination they have with our team, oh it does wonders for my e-peen. It reminds of how we've spanked them like a red-headed step child for over a decade and really has caused a lot of this pent up resentment towards the Wings. It's great to see. I'm rather looking forward to this Rivalry being renewed because hell, it's good entertainment. Did that poster really just say we're jealous of Chicago? Chicago is the new Pittsburgh, without the success. Edited December 3, 2009 by thedatsyukian
titanium2 867 Report post Posted December 3, 2009 Did that poster really just say we're jealous of Chicago? Chicago is the new Pittsburgh, without the success. Chicago is a much bigger market. As soon as the playoffs get going I'm sure Bettman would love for them to have a cup. I'll be sure to see if they get suspicious man advantages or generally speaking "incompetent referees" for their games.

The irony in all this is that as they "trim the fat" so to speak this off-season, we'll have more cap space than we've had in a long time.
