BeeRYCE 2 Report post Posted December 4, 2009 Okay, I've always been a big Crosby fan, Crosby biased, and I still think he has been the best NHL player since 2007. With that said, he has been on a hot streak, found his scoring touch and is approaching his game in even more of an effective way. His point per game average is 6th in the league and he is currently third in point scoring, but that is bound to go up, seeing as it already is. He is only going to get hotter, and guys like Gaborik and Kopitar will fall gradually whether it's injury or just a cold streak, Kopitar already has. I expect Thornton to stay high in scoring, but I think he'll stay at pace while Crosby will eclipse his current pace. So with all that said, I'm about 90% sure Crosby is winning Art Ross this year, assuming he stays healthy. Am I the only one?
Carman 387 Report post Posted December 4, 2009 Absolutely not. Crosby is the most complete player in the league. He'll win it this year. But if somehow he got injured by a jealous player cheap-shotting him, then Gaborik is probably the next player(would be about 15 points behind Crosby though). So unless Crosby gets injured for more than 9 games he'll win it easily.
SweWings 45 Report post Posted December 4, 2009 I hope he fails. I hate him more than I hate... New Jersey.
dat's sick 1,002 Report post Posted December 4, 2009 With both Ovechkin and Malkin missing a chunk of games, Crosby has a good chance to take it. I'm putting my money on Thornton though. With Heatley and Marleu to feed passes to, he's going to get a s***load of easy assists.

Hack & Whack Rule! 160 Report post Posted December 4, 2009 Seriously? Another freakin' Crosby thread? Maybe he'll win it, maybe he won't. I couldn't care less about the putz. Now, if he were to fall off the face of the earth...that's a story I'd be interested in.

Now, if he were to fall off the face of the earth...that's a story I'd be interested in. This thread happens to be about who you think will win the Art Ross. It just so happens that Crosby is the best player in the league by far. You should know the thread would be about Crosby when you read the title. Oh and he might be planning a trip into space with the Stanley Cup. I'll be sure to pm you the photos if you would like. dropkickshanahans 463 Report post Posted December 5, 2009 I lost it. But in all seriousness, I'm rooting for Crosby to win it, but with Heatley and Marleau on his line, I think Thornton's gonna run away with it.

Whether I knew it was going to be about Crosby or not is not my point. The fact is it's another Crosby thread. I don't give a rat's ass if if he comes up in a thread just by chance, but I can't figure out why some feel the need to pat him on the back every chance they get. The media and the NHL already shove him down everybody's throat, I just don't see why it needs to happen on a Red Wings forum.

And is a hell of a lot of fun to watch and talk about. Just because he doesn't play on the Red Wing's doesn't mean Red Wing's fans shouldn't have the privilege of watching and talking about his spectacular play. Just because he doesn't play on the Red Wing's doesn't mean Red Wing's fans shouldn't have the privilege of watching and talking about his spectacular play. He's an immature dork. I don't enjoy watching him play and the only time I have fun talking about him is when I get to call him immature names. Many other players are more fun to watch, but few get the same attention. Ovie and Malkin get a bit, and I'd rather watch them play, others only get attention when there's a clip of a dirty hit. The dude's got skills, I'll be the first Crosby hater to admit it, but way too young to have a C on his shirt, as proven by his absence in the lineup to shake hands after winning the cup. I get it, he was excited. A mature captain of that team would have been in that lineup at centre ice. His whining to the refs, hacking with his stick and complete lack of sportsmanship is what makes me believe that he sucks ass through a straw, and probably always will. It's interesting how you spout the same stuff about "Crosby being the best player in the NHL" in seemingly every thread you post in, regardless of the topic, and then try to defend your opinion while telling others that they're just, "jealous and won't stop bringing him up." We get it man, you have a boner for Crosby. It's getting really repetitive and annoying.

Zetts 236 Report post Posted December 5, 2009 Crosby will likely win it, sadly. Either him or Thornton, both of whom I hate. I'm hoping for Gaborik or Kopitar although I don't think either is too realistic. Crosby is injured though, so that'll ding his point totals a little bit. Carman 387 Report post Posted December 5, 2009 There. That looks better. At the moment I would take him over everyone else in the league. Look at his stats so far this season. Face-offs, even strength points, plus minus, TOI etc.. He is one of the best players in the league without question. And the best player in the league in my mind. Bring something else other than using my great quotes iin an effort to contribute to this wonderful thread about the greatest talents in the history of the league.
