Ugggg... brutal.

*sigh*

Tomorrow better be a stronger game than this. The Wings came out flat and never managed to fully recover-- this game shouldn't have had to go to a SO. Holmstrom was definitely responsible for the 1st goal-- why wasn't he covering his man? He could have at least looked over his shoulder to see that a man was open behind him. The second was one Ozzy definitely wants back.

*frig*

Zetterberg, Datsyuk and Lidstrom all need to step it up. We can't win if our best players aren't our best players.

Anyone notice that Hank has pretty much copied Pavel in every shootout this year? When Pav shoots, Hank shoots. When Pav goes backhand, Hank goes backhand. It's like he doesn't know what to do and figures, hey I'll just do what he did. Kinda funny.

Didn't expect Wings to win in the SO. Ozzie is so easy to deke and get out of position. Glad we got a point though.

Looked like Ozzy dang near made the save on Elias. Does NJ have anybody injured?

This is getting tough, because Mickey York and John Keating bug the hell out of me when we're winning big. The losing makes them just about insufferable!

We suck ass in the shootouts so I'm not surprised, Leino is frickin pitiful, 5 points in 27 games -8, christ.

At least the Draper line was great as usually, but seriously, our best players arent playing like best players right now. Until they do, we're middle of the pack and we'll get quite a bit of this. May back in tommorow Babs, at least a fight softens the hurt.

I hope Leino goes back to Finland this summer. He doesn't belong in the NHL.

Maltby and Draper are better goalscorers than him this season.

Don't forget this bum started the year playing in the top 6. What did the coaches see in him to give him that kind of chance?

Not going to get riled up. We got a point on the road verse a top Eastern Conference team. I'll take it. Would like to see us play the whole game like we played the 3rd period, but that's hockey.

Osgood gave the team a chance to win, that said he looked shaky, hopefully that is due to not playing much lately, but we'll see.

Now set the sights on the New York Gaborik/Lundqists. Should be a good one.

Gaborik is lucky that Kronwall's out (and that Hasek's retired).

entertaining game nonetheless. third period was great

alot of good things in this game as well as some alarming things, datsyuks play. as haroldsnepts mentioned earlier in this thread, datsyuk seem to lack a bit of jump. i think it really stuck out sometimes today, for example when he was behind the net with the puck after a devil player cross checked holmstrom from behind and wings had a powerplay waiting, he stand with the puck behind the net and was just slow, made some weird deke and a devil just took the puck from him when he stood there.. thats one incident i noticed when he just seem to lack energy

Yeah. Jimmy probably hasn't seen a lot of the shooters like Ozzy has, but he's bigger in net and rebound control doesn't matter.

Have some patience... the whole team is struggling. Last year he was on the 4th line for most of the time and had 9 points in 13 games. He's got it in him, he's just gotten off on the wrong foot this season and losing his buddy Filppula didn't help since those two looked good together.

not quite brutal, but the first period could have been better... The fact that we were abel to come back and take over the game against one of the top teams in the East, says something about our team... If they can find a way to come play the whole game like they do in the 3rd most nights, they win a lot more games.... giving up 2 goals in the 1st period every game is not a good way to win

He sure doesnt try very hard, or understand the NHL game very well.

Unfortunately, so true. Drapes has fricking as many goals as Leino has points, and his +/- is frickin higher by 14. Malts same amount of points in like 9 less games and a better plus/minus. Like, with all the injuries, he had to step up and didnt. Dano and Bert didnt step up quite like they were supposed to tonight, but at least they hustle and hit and s***.

Agreed.

Like I said earlier in the thread, they're just that little bit off that makes the difference. some defensive breakdowns, some bad goals. But the eked out a point anyway.

If they can get their act together that little bit, this team will be fine even with all the injuries.

I would've rather seen Howard in net, I feel more confident in the team with him in there (especially in shootouts). Also, they should have let Eaves have a chance in the shootout instead of Leino.

No way! If a rookie doesn't knock our socks off in the first 30 games he's garbage. Remember that Filppula kid? He only had 15pts in his first full season. Man, what a piece of s***. I'll be he'd never make it in the NHL today.

Thanks for proving my point. Apparently those guys aren't struggling right now, even though they're getting far fewer minutes than Leino.

The other rookies are all playing better than him, with fewer minutes I may add.
