does anybody else think that Abdelkadar should be getting more of a shot on the top 2 lines than Leino? Leino doesn't do s*** while Abdelkadar works hard and is bigger and stronger

Abby plays on the PK, Leino can't. Until Flippula gets back you'll be hard pressed to find anyone from the bottom six jumping into the top six.

Did Bro get a piece of Bert's shot on the shootout attempt?

If not it would seem like classic Bertuzzi: Have a great chance and f*** it up in the last second.

And yeah Fatso just got a piece of it. Probably thought it was a cheeseburger...

and for the leino haters..hes looking better seems like hes trying harder in the defensive zone and he holding onto the puck alot better. im sure leino is a great shootout scorer or babs wouldnt be using him. he obv sees something in him like he saw what bert had in the last shootout.

No way! If a rookie doesn't knock our socks off in the first 30 games he's garbage. Remember that Filppula kid? He only had 15pts in his first full season. Man, what a piece of s***. I'll be he'd never make it in the NHL today.

Drake, you know this is different. (And hey, Ericsson has been alot better lately, so I dont just hate rookies.) But Leino to Filpulla is different. Fil in his rookie season busted his ass, was pretty snakebittin most of the time, and didnt shoot alot. He still managed 17 points, 10 goals and a plus 8. If Leino does that by the end of the season, fine, I might've been wrong. But right now, he's not helping us.

Post Game Show: Is Eaves intentionally going for the wet Cousin "It" look?

Probably trying to cover his face because of the hit in the face.

And my 2 cents on the Leino situation is if he isn't scoring his isn't that helpful for the Wing's. He isn't very physical, doesn't play on the PK, doesn't block shots, isn't the best skater. Kinda reminds me of Holmstrom without the net presence...

After going down 2-0 and 3-1 (the 3rd goal was especially deflating), getting a point out of this game was somewhat rewarding. I think the Devils played last night, which probably at least partially explains how the Wings were able to take the game over in the 3rd. But still, the Wings were at least as good as New Jersey overall tonight.

The team should still be really good once they get players back. Thinking about it, Rafalski-Kronwall and Williams-Filppula-Franzen is a hell of a 5 man unit the Wings are playing without.

The Devils are 6-0 on the second night of back-to-backs this Season.

Some pics from tonight's game. I'll take a road point any day against a team that has won 9 of 11 at home

Zetterberg and Leino should have deked around Brodeur instead of doing what Datsyuk did because Brodeur is way too good of a goalie to let that happen twice in a shootout.

With that said, After being down 2-0 there is nothing to ***** about. It was a point we shouldn't have gotten but we did. Now they need to build on it for tomorrow.

Shootouts are always a mindf***, if you'll excuse the language.

It's very similar to soccer in that both you and your opponent are very nearly at the top of your game, so you know practically everything that the person you're facing can do; you try to reason through all of the choices you have. It's gonna go through everyone's head that Dats just beat Brodeur via a snipe, thus the next guy or two are gonna try and deke. Then the guy that has that thought and knows MB has it too will go one step further and think "well then I should snipe since he thinks I'm gonna deke".

Saying "Z and Leino should have deked instead of trying to snipe shots" doesn't really do justice to the thought process they have to go through when they're approaching the center dot.

In retrospect, it would seem like you're right, but how about Bertuzzi completely beating MB and tossing his shot away into the glass? Wouldn't that be more significant?

Oh, I agree completely. I get that they want to switch it up and do the unexpected. It's what makes them better at shootouts than most. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. When you go up against New Jersey in a shootout, it's never an easy task  Obviously since I'm not in their position, I can sit back here and make the assertion that what they did didn't seem like the best move against someone like Brodeur although I can completely see the reasoning behind it.

Bertuzzi going backwards at Brodeur and lifting it over the net was deflating and I thought he had it in when he was taking the shot and it just sailed right over the crossbar  Ah well.
