Z and D for the C 712 Report post Posted December 10, 2009 Can the wings just forfeit the rest of the season so we can stop caring and thinking about it?

Doc Holiday 0 Report post Posted December 10, 2009 The Wings are doing a little more than light cardio. What a stupid analogy. If you don't understand how exhaustion can lead to injury, then I don't know what to tell you. Don't blame me because you can't understand the comparison. Broken 16 381 Report post Posted December 10, 2009 Don't blame me because you can't understand the comparison. I do understand it. That's how I know it's bad. I thought you wrote at one point that you played hockey. If so you should understand how exhaustion can creep up on somebody and force them to not only start reaching, which opens them up to injury, but to also react slower... like when reacting to a hit. Yes, but there shouldn't be a reason they are exhausted. Unless they are just too old to recover from a full off-season of rest. Than that's a completely different situation. Carman 387 Report post Posted December 10, 2009 They haven't had one of those in over a decade. So that extra couple weeks really makes that big of a difference? What about all the injuries around the league. What about Pittsburgh? I don't buy it.

dropkickshanahans 463 Report post Posted December 10, 2009 So that extra couple weeks really makes that big of a difference? What about all the injuries around the league. What about Pittsburgh? I don't buy it. I buy it, considering the amount of workload the Wings have done over the last two years, I think we now have the most injuries in the league. As for the Penguins, they're a younger team. Their legs can handle the workload, except Gonchar.

I don't buy it. I don't know if this is the reason or not, but take a look at Pittsburgh's stars: Crosby - 22 Malkin - 23 Staal - 21 Letang - 22 Fleury - 25 And the Red Wings stars: Datsyuk - 31 Zetterberg - 29 Lidstrom - 39 Rafalski - 36 Osgood - 37 Arguably our better players this year have been: Kronwall - 28 Filppula - 25 Helm - 22 Maybe these long playoff runs do have an effect on our older guys? Lovin Jiri Fischer 147 Report post Posted December 10, 2009 One word... exhaustion. Exhaustion does not break someone's wrist or leg. These are professional athletes and if they can't handle being great and having consistent playoff runs every year then maybe they don't deserve to be called professionals. It's their job. They had the rest of June, all of July, and most of August to rest.
Guest micah Report post Posted December 10, 2009 If only May was in the lineup If someone has ever claimed that a toughguy would prevent all questionable hits against us, quote them here and now, otherwise quit being such a f***tard. May does reduce the ammount of cheap garbage other teams try against us. Honest posters here know it,Babcock knows it and has spoken about it, grow up. dat's sick 1,002 Report post Posted December 10, 2009 It's getting to the point where I'm not even upset, I just think it's funny. Bad luck like this only comes around but once every century. Oh and why would anyone be called up as anything but a 13th forward? We have Leino ready to jump into the lineup. So that extra couple weeks really makes that big of a difference? What about all the injuries around the league. What about Pittsburgh? I don't buy it. Pittsburgh has had a lot of injuries this year.
