servo 15 Report post Posted December 11, 2009 "Babcock said he'll use these lines for Friday's game: Datsyuk-Zetterberg-Holmstrom Leino-Abdelkader-Bertuzzi Draper-Helm-Eaves May-Miller-Maltby Jimmy Howard will make his third consecutive start in goal." Anyone else think that Babs should promote the 3rd line up and the 2nd line down? I'm not trying to knock Bertuzzi, but there is no way in hell he is going to be able to produce anything with Leino and Abdelkader. I would love to see afterburner line pick up more ice time. PrairieDawg 52 Report post Posted December 11, 2009 (edited) The 2nd and 3rd lines usually get around the same amount of ice time, so it really wouldn't be that big of a difference. Even skate TOI last game: Bertuzzi - 13:02 Abdelkader - 10:19 Cleary - 10:17 Draper - 10:25 Helm - 11:28 Eaves - 9:25 Edited December 11, 2009 by PrairieDawg

Theophany 110 Report post Posted December 11, 2009 Bigger issue than ice time is that none of our bottom three lines really have any scorers on them. They've got a lot of grit and toughness, but pretty much zero scoring ability. Tomas Tatar, where are you?!

titanium2 867 Report post Posted December 11, 2009 Again, Leino and Abby had good chemistry in GR. I'm hoping that'll pan out next game.

Namingway 146 Report post Posted December 11, 2009 Seems like I've heard this one before. Wasn't that Leino - Flips - Williams line pretty decent a while back? If not our best line for a few games or so.
mmamolo 287 Report post Posted December 11, 2009 As much as I like both Leino and Abdelkader they just cant score at this level yet. If that second line can play responsibly in their own end and generate some grinding chacnes then we should be happy. We need Pavel and Hank to really get hot here. KrazyGangsta 79 Report post Posted December 11, 2009 Someone should come up with a new thread for prediction of injuries and length. We keep losing a player per week and it's keeping them out for weeks. You guys think the past 2 playoff has anything to do with the team not being able to rest and all or just bad karma? Looks like Leino's chance tonight,if he doesn't do something tonight, don't expect to see much more of him after a few of our injured players get back.
