Konnan511 1,736 Report post Posted December 14, 2009 Personally, those Blackhawk games ARE must wins and we HAVE to take at least one of the games from the BJs.
SweWings 45 Report post Posted December 14, 2009 Detroit needs a winning streak of 5ish games to place themselves at around 6th or something. After that they can string along the same kind of record they've been having for the last month or so.
StevieY9802 6 Report post Posted December 14, 2009 Every game is huge this month. Even the game against the Lightning. Yes the Hawks ones are bigger but they can't afford many losses right now. And yeah they need to get a little winning streak going here and pull ahead. I don't think they can afford to fall behind anymore than they are right now. FinWing 26 Report post Posted December 14, 2009 I don't know why but I'm not worried at all. This team knows what it takes to win and they're just too good to slip out of the playoffs. Not to mention they will soon be boosted by the return of some very key players. It's going to be alright.

Not to mention they will soon be boosted by the return of some very key players. It's going to be alright. Well, we're technically out right now... I'm not scared either and have been telling people to chill until we get key players back since Fil went down, but these games are still important, not only in the standings, but the psyche of the team... cupforwings 138 Report post Posted December 14, 2009 (edited) 4 games VS. division opponents is very important for this team... hopefully we can win at least 3 if not all 4! the Chicago games will be huge, and if we are able to beat them with our depleted lineup, that will say a lot about this team. GO WINGS! Edited December 14, 2009 by cupforwings
dat's sick 1,002 Report post Posted December 14, 2009 If we can split against the Hawks and BJ's and win against the Stars I'm more than happy considering the amount of players we have injured. We don't need to take giant leaps up in the standings as long as we don't slide down too much.

Detroit # 1 Fan 2,204 Report post Posted December 15, 2009 Point against Dallas, win at home against Chicago and compete in there building, and take both Columbus games and I'm happy. They could do better, but that's what I'd like. CBJ just cant play defence, so we should take those games.

VM1138 1,921 Report post Posted December 18, 2009 Man, the next 5 games are crucial. We can't afford a loss next game or else Dallas will probably leapfrog us and we'll lose all the momentum. A win next game sets us up for only needing to win one of the Hawk games to still be chugging along nicely. But man, the next game, the Wings really need to win it. GMRwings1983 8,804 Report post Posted December 18, 2009 We need to goon it up against Chicago, to send them a message for later in the season when we're healthy. Here's what I propose: Put May/Newbury/Bertuzzi on the same line, and play them frequently with Doug Janik. Then have that line run everything that moves and start scrums at the end of whistles. That's what teams like the Hawks have tried to do to us in the past when they were overmatched.

Run over their goalie as well, the PK units seem to work well and to totally crash maybe even hurt their goalie is a real morale downer for them and it sends a message that they wont be able to screw with detroit in the future...a few goalie crash penalties per game could maybe be great in the long run Edited December 18, 2009 by mindfly

We need the Hanson Brothers for this game. No need to give the Hawks a chance to light us up on the scoreboard with all these injuries.
