How do you explain his start to the season.... or all of last season?... He's off when he's starting every game, and he's off when he's starting sporadically (which is actually a change... it used to be an asset of his that he could come in and play well with the occasional games... like when we had Hasek).

Osgood has always struck me as a severely emotionally weak goalie (like Legacy.. tho not as extreme). His lows are really low and his highs are really high... if the consistency was there he'd be a hall of famer.. but alas.

This is incredibly reidiculous.

Osgood's start was with teams like Chicago and Washington (don't forget his shutout in Boston later in the season) and he let in a single goal in each of them, while pretty much standing on his head both of those games.

Osgood and Hasek SPLIT games when Hasek was on the team. He didn't play a "handful".

Osgood as an emotionally weak goaltender is ridiculous. Osgood has never had a losing season. Osgood has also never missed the playoffs in his career. He also has two Stanley Cups, a Conn Smythe worthy performance last year and even won a few games with the Isles and Blues. But hey whatever floats your boat.

This has been a bad game, but he had been playing much better this season than last. It would help if he wasn't on the bench for almost a month sitting around while his old bones rust. He needs to play at least marginally in order to keep on his game. He is older and a much smaller goaltender, so he is at a much bigger disadvantage when it comes to age and positioning.

Enough of the haterade.

Doc I applaud your persistence..lol.

Just stating the facts. Not my fault you don't like them.

the boys managed to hang in there for quite a time....but well, with only one line that provides some offensive thread you can´t beat these hawks, unless you have a really good goalie in net.....well, more of a swiss cheese tonight, on a good night he has the first one too, and the other two wre soft as hell.

maybe next game, with a little more puck-luck and a goalie in net, unless 44-13-96 put on some magic in the 3rd.

go wings!

It ain't ******* over!

If Osgood were emotionally weak, he'd have left Detroit long ago and stayed gone, given the attitude Wings fans have about goalies. As far as being a Hall of Famer, how many goalies of Osgood's era can claim the same accomplishments he has? Martin Brodeur? Dominik Hasek? Ed Belfour? Those guys are all HOFers or will be. I know Luongo is going to come up, so will someone tell me what Luongo has done that Osgood hasn't? Luongo's only accomplishment is a two Second-Team selections. Osgood has one of those, plus tons more. Osgood has a HOF resume. Luongo is 30 years old and his resume is not terribly strong. He has won a couple of international tournaments but has ultimately not earned the awards or stats to give him a Hall-worthy resume. Luongo has several years left, but at his age do you think he can win the awards or show the playoff ability that would tip him over?

If you think of a Hall of Famer as the best guys from a certain era, Osgood is a lock. During Ozzie's career, few goalies can compare with his consistent winning ability and impressive playoff performances.
