Top Ten Shootout Goals of the Decade

I like #2. That is a pretty sick move, too.
Yeah, but that move is actually not so hard to save. When Ribeiro put the stick between his legs there was basically only one option there. Budaj just somehow didn't make the save.

Malik's move actually pretty good, as he had decent speed and went to the backhand first. Goalie made his move and after that Malik pulled it between legs and in to the empty area in the back of the net.

Ribeiro's move was something that we don't probably see ever again in a competitive game, but that was mostly because it's not effective.

malik's is actually much easier to pull off than datsyuks. I've been scoring on between the legs shots for years....but datsyuk's..dragging the puck back when you're in THAT close to the goalie is pretty tricky, it's very easy for the goalie to just poke check it whereas the between the legs shot, well, once you put the puck back between your legs, you're protecting it from the goalie, so it just depends on how good of a shot you pull off.

I agree. That Malik's deke is MUCH easier than it may look like. Though hard doesn't always mean effective. Vokoun overreacted in that Datsyuk goal clearly, so it's not really that effective either.

I agree, thru-the-leg shots really aren't that hard to do, and they can also be LASERs because of the weird leverage you get.

Datsyuk's is amazing because of what he causes the goalie to do. If the fake is not effective, Datsyuk ends up looking like an idiot who doesnt get a real shot off. Ribiero's is lucky as hell, but still really cool how long that puck was in the air. Nash's is pretty funny. I liked the subtlety of Getzlaf's.

Isn't the Getzlaf's goal almost identical to the Datsyuk's goal?

malik's is more impressive because he was a hulking defenseman who had zero offensive talent

Every time I try Dats' move I either fall on my ass and crash into the boards, or I end up looking way too obvious that I'm going to drag it back to the forehand and the goalie doesn't bite.

I've never seen Nash's goal, but come on? I mean I could see why it's nice, but I can think of like 40 shootout goals that have impressed me more.

I also don't know why Ribeiro's "other" shootout goal isn't there though... I mean the one that makes the list is nice, but the "through the leg one hander" vs LA was amazing. Before opening it, I saw Ribeiro's name and thought it was that goal.

Datsyuk's was so wild because he changed weight and made it look like he was going to shoot, managed to keep his body still, pull the puck back and just threw it in the open net. I wish I had that kind of talent. Malik's goal was golden because he slowed down and it just looked perfect.

You may THINK he slowed down but Malkin was really skating at his top speed
