I'm noticing. The reason we can't score on the PP is, we're carrying the puck straight in and to the corner where, 3 hawks will deal with that ONE guy of ours and take the puck, while the rest of the PP unit watches and doesn't offer any support. What we need to do is once we see those 2nd two guys closing in on the guy with the puck in the corrner, we need to dish that puck, and quick...to a defenseman and start a cycle. as of now we're only trying to score off the rush on the PP and that is just not going to work.

This isn't just tonight either, i've noticed our PP doing this alot lately.

Man, these injuries have really hurt this team. It'll be difficult to grind out a point out of this game, let alone two.

I agree that it's great about our PK doing great but in the mean time since we have very little offensive prowess, we need to RELY on our PP to get us a goal here and there. They're not doing that. Not at all. and its because we're letting other teams outwork us and keep it in our end and us chasing it. Sure , we may not be able to score on every PP but we need to change it up to at least get SOME SHOTS...during the PP.

Today, he's also been bad defensively, which is really uncharacteristic of him.

Having a 2nd PP unit should help, but the top PP unit has mostly been unchanged from the old standby with Nick and Rafalski on the blue line and Pavel, Hank, and Homer up front. Hank is out and Bert is in which isn't ideal but it's not terrible, and more ot the point the PP wasn't any better when Hank was there and Bert wasn't.

The Wings can't skate their one NHL-caliber line the whole game; they need the PP to be an equalizer for them, and the first unit has been very disappointing in trying to achieve that.

I dont know if were bad, or the Hawks are good, it's like everything is weird. I just hope Bertuzzi hurts someone tonight, or scores... first option is probably more likely.
