Vladifan 680 Report post Posted January 2, 2010 In the latest issue of the "Sporting News", Jeremy Roenick says: "They've played way too much hockey in the last five years." (I thought you just played the teams you're supposed to play?) "They're getting tired - the old guys are getting tired. They've lost some players here and there that made them strong. I think their run is coming to an abrupt end." Anybody know what Jeremy's up to these days? Do we care?

Zetts 236 Report post Posted January 2, 2010 (edited) In the latest issue of the "Sporting News", Jeremy Roenick says: "They've played way too much hockey in the last five years." (I thought you just played the teams you're supposed to play?) "They're getting tired - the old guys are getting tired. They've lost some players here and there that made them strong. I think their run is coming to an abrupt end." Anybody know what Jeremy's up to these days? Do we care? I think that his career will come to an abrupt end without a Stanley Cup. Oh, wait... Edit: I like this one too: Roenick replied, "I'd like to know where Patrick was in Game 3 (a game in which Roenick had scored on Patrick Roy on a similar breakaway); probably up trying to get his jock out of the rafters." Roy retorted, "I cannot really hear what Jeremy says because I've got my two Stanley Cup rings plugging my ear." Edited January 2, 2010 by Zetts

Trapt1307 81 Report post Posted January 2, 2010 He's just mad he didn't sign here when he had a chance. Probably eats away at him that he was on the verge of being on the team that won in 02.

ShanahanMan 473 Report post Posted January 2, 2010 (edited) If we aren't able to make the playoffs (which is a very real possibility), I'd say that constitutes as a pretty big fall. Edited January 2, 2010 by ShanahanMan
Statts 4 Report post Posted January 2, 2010 Roenick also said Babcock is bias against American players last year. It could happen, but its just one *******'s opinion.
RedWings Gone Wild 6 Report post Posted January 2, 2010 he knows what it takes to be a stanley cup winning team, right? Apparently insulting teams/players with actual successes is part of his MO (see: Roy, Patrick). He's been off so far, let's hope the trend continues.

Vladifan 680 Report post Posted January 2, 2010 enough to base a whole thread around his opinion Ah yes. Point well taken. Who would know better than you about basing a whole thread on an opinion? That wasn't even yours? But you obviously thought it was hilarious while you were doing it so whatever floats your boat. Here's an idea. If you don't like a thread, don't respond. It really helps. I've already decided to do that with all your stuff. Bye.

GMRwings1983 8,794 Report post Posted January 2, 2010 I'm glad this dirtbag never won the Stanley Cup. People have been predicting a Wings fall for the last 5 years.
AtomicPunk 296 Report post Posted January 2, 2010 I really like Roenick but I wish he would stop having opions, comments, or thoughts about the Red Wings.
Miss Wing Queen 154 Report post Posted January 2, 2010 If worse comes worse, we can think of this season as a bit of a slight stumble or a toe drag, not a fall. And usually after a toe drag a great shot follows, so we can only hope for an even better '10-'11 season.
Hockeytown0001 7,652 Report post Posted January 2, 2010 Still jealous you never won the Cup, eh Jeremy? I like Roenick for the most part, but he spends a bit too much time talking right out of his ass. That comment last year about Babcock disliking Americans made it hard to take him seriously. Guest Shoreline Report post Posted January 2, 2010 Jeremy might be right, but personally I don't care that he says it any more than a poster here -- Jeremy is just a talking head and at this point his MO is getting in the headlines so he can continue making money post-retirement. Anyhow, eventually those deep playoff runs can take a toll on a team, and it's possible it's why the Wings have so many injury problems, with some bad luck or merely it exclusively being bad luck. It's a tough season for Wings fans, but even then there's still lots of promise this season. This team needed a little adversity instead of coasting into yet another Central division win and 1-3 seed.
