Detroit # 1 Fan 2,204 Report post Posted January 6, 2010 GMR check that, I should only s*** talk Wings and not opposing players. And nice assist Rafalski.

ShanahanMan 473 Report post Posted January 6, 2010 Question: If we buy out Rafalski's absurd contract (to sign Gonshar in the offseason) will it still count against our cap?
Third Man In 2,091 Report post Posted January 6, 2010 (edited) Wings, all that to get one back to give that up immediately? Edit: Upon rereading this is nearly incomprehensible. But I'm leaving it anyway. Edited January 6, 2010 by Third Man In

gcom007 1,465 Report post Posted January 6, 2010 Flip would score in this game after we busted his chops...well good for him. I wish him no ill at all, but I'm still not hopping on any bandwagons. The day he's the answer to our scoring needs is an ugly one and I still expect him to be a smidge above a .5 point per game player when this season ends, mostly assists. Defensive forward. Nothing wrong with that, but he's always going to be an inconsistent scorer. P.S. Rough goal to let in as soon as we get a goal...that's the game there. Vladifan 680 Report post Posted January 6, 2010 6 mil next year too. Ouch. Right now who's better Stuart at 3 mil or Rafalski? After that last goal by Perry, any JLA janitor at $9.50 an hour is better than Rafalski. Martha Stewart would be better than Rafalski.

Everyone knows Flip is not a scorer, but a better play-maker. Look at the 13 million on D that is not performing.

ShanahanMan 473 Report post Posted January 6, 2010 (edited) Once again: I don't remember for sure, but if we buy out Rafalski's contract, will it still count against our cap? Cause seriously......6 mil for this kind of player and an aging defenseman.........what was Holland thinking? Right up there with letting Quincey go. GMRwings1983 8,804 Report post Posted January 6, 2010 Can't complain about injuries when guys like Rafalski and Lidstrom are making boneheaded plays by turning pucks over. What should we expect from scrubs like Meech and Lebda if our top players are screwing up?

And PS, Datsyuk has had more than double his goal total in assists each of the past 4 seasons. Does that make him a defensive forward and an inconsistent scorer? And the rules regarding it are a little complicated... http://www.nhlscap.com/cap_faq.htm#buyouts

GMRwings1983 8,804 Report post Posted January 6, 2010 Maybe it was a good thing losing game 7 to the Pens last year. It'd be embarrassing to be back to back champions, and then miss the playoffs the following season.
