Does anyone else not care when we get a PP anymore?

I swear, I don't even get excited anymore when we get a PP. I feel we have a better chance of scoring shorthanded at this point. With our PP as bad as it is, I'm surprised that we are even in the playoff hunt once you combine that with all of our injuries. Does anyone else feel this way?

I get discouraged, because its 2 minutes of the game where I know we aren't going to score. At least in even strength they can surprise me.

Whenever the Wings get a PowerPlay, I know its a good time to fix a snack. Its terribly pathetic, just trying to watch them regain the zone and once they have it, pass and pass and pass looking for the "best" shot, but always end up settling on a shot from the wall that goes high and wide with 10 seconds left in the PP anyways.

Its honestly the most frustrating part of the game, and it used to be the most exciting. Nothing like watching 3 AHLers fumble around with the puck in and out of the offensive zone for 2 minutes and calling it an "advantage"....

What's sad is there's more than 10 teams with a worse PP% than the Wings. And it's some small consolation that the Pens have the worst.

but yeah, I wish they could decline penalties, our power play is so brutal to watch.

I want this team to get all the power plays they can get! Personally, I rather watch a PP than a PK... but that's just me.

Yeah, a lot of excitement is out of the Wing's game. Unfortunately we're built as a skilled type of hockey team, and most of the skill is gone through the offseason or injuries. So we play a mashed together dump and chase that we're only marginally effective with.

We need more enforcers!

Seriously though, with Zetterberg and Cleary back soon the PP will get some more zip.

I think you summed it up right there. We're playing with a below average first line, a third line and 2 fourth lines. You really can't expect that much right now.

Yeah, can't say I really get pumped for them lately. We're not a goal scoring team though this season. Even if we were healthy, we wouldn't have the offense we're used to. Thankfully our defense has been solid. Once we do get guys back, if the D stays solid and we get a few more goals here and there, this is going to be a tough team to beat, and we might actually get excited about power plays again.

The powerplay is still the only time during a Wings game that I expect a goal.

Of course I have high expectations when the Wings have the puck in the other team's end for almost two minutes at a time.

What's sad is there's more than 10 teams with a worse PP% than the Wings.

The Wings started off doing well on the power play and they were near the top for a while, but the last 10+ games (I lose count of the days in this insufferable drought) they're operating at like a 5% clip.

Kronwall is a better PP QB then many give him credit for. Him + Zetter will make a very significant difference.

I like when we go on the PP because I know I've got a 2 minute break where I won't miss any scoring. So I can go pee or grab something to drink.

They should put Brad May on the powerplay.

He goes out there, beats their best player to a pulp, gets the instigator, we go to 4 on 4. More chance of Detroit scoring + they're down a player for the game due to the severe beating.

Rinse and repeat.

The PP will improve when we get Z, Kronner and Mule back. Let's not forget that we also lost Sammy. He didn't hit the net much, but he took the shots. We are now seeing what happens when we don't take the shots. They cycle and cycle until the PP is over or the other team steals the puck.
