stevkrause 1,247 Report post Posted January 11, 2010 WHY DOES EVERYONE GLOSS OVER HIS WAIVER STATUS?!?!?! He is not waiver exempt, with the way he's played... we expose him and we very well may lose him...
Miller Brew 0 Report post Posted January 11, 2010 Janik has been great for us. I hope he stays over Meech and/or Lebda. Somebody should email this thread to Babcock so he knows what we want.

Guest mindfly Report post Posted January 11, 2010 Lebda got 300games of nhl experience etc Ken Holland value that... too much imop.
stevkrause 1,247 Report post Posted January 11, 2010 Lebda got 300games of nhl experience etc Ken Holland value that... too much imop. He'll also be somewhere else next year regardless... Meech is younger, still has upside, and is equal to Lebda, wheras Lebda is what he will be. Seems like a no brainer to me...

russianswede919293 95 Report post Posted January 11, 2010 It all will come down to who Holland thinks has the best chance of passing through waivers. Whomever he thinks will go through, they will be placed on waivers. Whatever move is made will be made for depth purposes. Personally I hope Janik sticks around, I like him a lot. dragonballgtz 273 Report post Posted January 11, 2010 (edited) I think its really dumb that we have to lose a player becasue others were injured and could not play. I do hope that Janik stays. He is th exact type of defenseman we need Edited January 11, 2010 by dragonballgtz
Opie 308 Report post Posted January 11, 2010 good solid play for a#6 I hope the guy is around for a few years. Another KH project guy this year!
GMRwings1983 8,804 Report post Posted January 11, 2010 Yeah, what others have said. He's a big stay at home defenseman who fights. With Lilja out we don't have anyone else who can do that. Especially since Stuart and Ericsson don't fight, and in Ericsson's case, he's too prone to turnovers and being caught out of position. Also, he seems willing to actually block shots, which our team traditionally sucks at.

Shady Ultima 40 Report post Posted January 11, 2010 I'd love to see him stay. And I really don't believe that Ken Holland is dumb enough to get rid of him. Even though he was signed mainly as a mentor for the GR kids, he's not able to go back there without risking being grabbed off of waivers. We KNOW that Lebda WILL NOT be here by next season, so the smart thing here is to waive Lebda. There's less risk that anyone will take him, as he is absolutely terrible, offensively and defensively. newfy 695 Report post Posted January 12, 2010 Janik has been a perfect fill in for Lilja and with all the praise Babcock has been giving him I find it hard to believe he'll be the one sent down again. He's played solid defensively but outside of May he's the only one who looks willing to stand up for our guys which Babcock loves.
