Sad thing is they most likely will go with the #3 even though Lebda is a pylon and he sucks.

I'd rather have Meech than Lebda at this point...

Lebda got 300games of nhl experience etc Ken Holland value that... too much imop.

He'll also be somewhere else next year regardless... Meech is younger, still has upside, and is equal to Lebda, wheras Lebda is what he will be.

Seems like a no brainer to me...

I hope so, as Lebda probably has more trade value right now...

It all will come down to who Holland thinks has the best chance of passing through waivers. Whomever he thinks will go through, they will be placed on waivers. Whatever move is made will be made for depth purposes.

Personally I hope Janik sticks around, I like him a lot.

Yeah, what others have said.

He's a big stay at home defenseman who fights. With Lilja out we don't have anyone else who can do that. Especially since Stuart and Ericsson don't fight, and in Ericsson's case, he's too prone to turnovers and being caught out of position.

Also, he seems willing to actually block shots, which our team traditionally sucks at.

I'd love to see him stay.

And I really don't believe that Ken Holland is dumb enough to get rid of him. Even though he was signed mainly as a mentor for the GR kids, he's not able to go back there without risking being grabbed off of waivers.

We KNOW that Lebda WILL NOT be here by next season, so the smart thing here is to waive Lebda. There's less risk that anyone will take him, as he is absolutely terrible, offensively and defensively.

Janik has been a perfect fill in for Lilja and with all the praise Babcock has been giving him I find it hard to believe he'll be the one sent down again. He's played solid defensively but outside of May he's the only one who looks willing to stand up for our guys which Babcock loves.
