Broken 16 381 Report post Posted January 16, 2010 I don't label you a hater now do I? That same poster has been on Osgood's ass since last year. I think it is safe to say he is a "hater". Especially posters who use such ridiculous adjectives as "mammoth" and "pathetic" to describe a goaltender's play. Would it make sense for me to label Howard's rebound control as pathetic? They said that Toronto said it was inconclusive. Basically it sounds like the ref that had his head in the net looking at it has no balls and didn't stand up for his call. f***in' sad. I think if that is the case, and howard is still playing this well, you have to give him consideration. Ozzie looks like he has completely lost it. The argument though is that he looked this way last year and was outstanding when it mattered. I would hate to make that decision. Really? Not me. It's easy. The guy who is performing the best gets the job. If he chokes, pull him and the other guy get's his chance. Anything else is playing to favoritism or wishful thinking. Why over complicate it and second guess everything? You said it right there - "if he gets us in the playoffs." If he does, then do you think someone else deserves to take his job? While Howard's been great obviously and is the goalie of the hour/month/whatever you want to call it right now, there's still half a season left. Nothing's dead when you have half a season left. And I also find that a team HAS to exploit his weaknesses to beat him, which is our defence's job to prevent, so I'm confident but think Howie needs to be given a break. give ozzie a few consecutive games, i'm willing to call a resurgence of playoff Ozzie. But this little gem from the Edmonton game warrants another glance (watch the whole thing). Guess what? Howard lets in some softies too. And does anyone else remember how great Raycroft was his first season? I'm not saying Howard is the new Raycroft - I really like Howard and think he has a great future in Detroit - but seriously?
