wow what a noob, u r not even making a educated or valid argument, if u were in england u would fall under the wanker category. respect points minus 10

I'm just having a little fun.

Come on, there's no way you can compare Tatar to, in my opinion, the second best player in the League, Malkin.

What argument is there needed to be made? I think there's enough evidence in this discussion that says Tatar isn't ready yet. Also with Franzen, Holmstrom, and Williams coming back soon, there's no reason to bring him up.

:looney:

He could be right... sure it doesn't seem likely but who knows? I mean Datsyuk and Zetterberg were a bit older than him when they emerged (more so Dats than Z, who had a brilliant WJC).

I'm just saying... it's not 100% crazy, just very hopeful.

Our future better be this epic. That's all I got to say...

That was epic. Infinitely cooler than at least half of the playoff slogans the Wings' marketing department have come up with.

It started out pretty lulzy with the whole ship cracking down the middle but got pretty cool when the bear was playing hockey. Definitely cool for a University team.

I picked other as for the poll. Brendan Smith is the future. Him or Nyquist. Also holding out hope for Adam Almqvist as well :)

Actually, coming in to this seasons, Smith was a disappointing IMHO. But now? He's really come into his own. Being uninjured has really helped him develop (funny how that works, eh?). Right now? Man I hope he's able to keep this development going. All I know is he can skate like the wind and he's got immense offensive potential.

I really hope Max Nicastro will make it. Probably another 7 years though before that would happen. He really should've made the USA WJC team from what I heard. Him and Lashoff seem like they could eventually be a Brad Stuart-type of defenseman.

He's still a work in progress to be sure, but he could be a Stuart like guy, yeah.

Tatar will be a Wing before he is 20. Mursak is starting to bring the goods to the table, he has some great speed to. Emmerton is looking a good 2 way player and a guy that everyone on here seems to overlook is Pare. A great rookie season with 24+24 in 63 games

and also lead the team with a +23 with Big Rig 2nd on a +12. Pare had a slow start this year but now has 23pts in 41 games and again leads the Griffins with a +19 rating. Janik and Mursak are tied 2nd with a +12 followed by Tatar on +11, says something for Pare's game when he can put the #'s up and have great +- stats.

A little note about our old next great hope, Grigorenko. He had a very slow start to the KHL season but has been on fire of late. He has 16+11 after 43 games and a +21 rating. This after he had 2+4 after 17 games.

All good analysis. But don't mention Grigs... this is the way of madness on here. *why did he have to get in that car accident?*

Just imagine if all three of Grigs, Vladdie, and Fisch had been able to play out full, healthy careers with the Wings instead of having the accidents they had?

A polar bear....flying a fighter jet...blowing up the Earth....and playing hockey in space?

Can anyone say

WTF?

That's the stuff dreams are made of...

...in Alaska

Tatar will be part of the future of the club, for sure. Though I think it's WAAAAAYYYY to early to say if he is going to be THE future, or PART OF the future. There's a big difference, and only time will tell which one it will be.

*sigh* I'm just hoping these terrible misfortunes save us from future ones. It's the "well at least he's injured now and not in the playoffs" theory.
