I'm pretty sure they're brothers, actually.

I have been under the wrong impression this entire time.

He hasn't been bad at all, but he's never been as good as many say. People hype up his secondary assists like he scored a goal. Bottom line to me, he's not worth $3 million. Not even close. He would get far grace from people like me if he wasn't making $3 million a year. Well, that and the overzealous fanboys get pretty annoying at times...

Thanks for helping me out a bit. I'm with you - I'm not saying he is bad, but let's all relax until he starts really producing offensively. Is he good and backchecking? Absolutely, but he's supposed to be more than another grinder.

On a side note, Helm is starting to pick up Drapers amazing offensive habits and that worries me. He literally is going down the second generation Draper path and that's a path you don't want to go down. Just like any path on the show lost.

I guess people tend to give a ROOKIE (who wasn't even supposed to make according to most on here) a little bit more slack then a person who has let us down in the regular season twice now. Or it's the fact as pointed out earlier at least with Howard we feel like we can get a win or 2, with Ozzy most are nervous the entire game. Of course Howard has his faults but he has out played Ozzy light years so far. Why do you think people give a vet who is supposed to be our number 1 for 2 seasons now more s*** then a rookie?

I do believe one of the things that ticks me off the most is when Howard messes up, it is immediately labeled an "Ozzie move" by way too many posters. OZZIE WASN'T OUT THERE, GUYS. IT WAS JIMMY HOWARD. IF HE SCREWED UP HE DID IT ON HIS OWN. It is frickin' idiotic to lay THAT much crap on Ozzie.

Thank you. I should sleep better now.

I don't know why howard is catchin' slack tonight. The first goal was just totally bizarre, the second goal he had his leg out to make the save and it would of hit his pad but zetterberg tipped it over to the side which then hit havlat's skate and went in. The third goal is the only goal that was really a straight shot and even that was off a play that the puck popped up in the air and came down right to the wild player in the slot, our d shouln't have let him get such a good hsot, right when he caught the puck he shoud of basically been tackled.

The Sabres should win tonight since Ryan Miller is a goalie for them. It's the Miller brothers' night!

Let's make it MILLER TIME x 2, pretty pretty PLEASE!

If not, then I am seriously beginning to think that the hockey gods rest quite comfortably in Bettman's pocket.

Producing offensively? Including tonight Datsyuk has only 1 more point than Filppula since filppula's return. It's pretty great for Fil being that Datsyuk didn't miss the previous 26 games like Flip did and Flip got over that and still is only underproducing him by one point. It's obvious how little you know.

And since I know how everyone loves these arguments, Fil's best regular line mate was cleary whereas Datsyuk has been playing with Bertuzzi for the duration, and recently Zetterberg (Pav has played as many games with Z and Flip has with C). It's obvious how little you know.

Season Records

Red Wings: 25-27-8, 58 pts (3rd in division, 8th in conference). Wings are -14 back of the Blackhawks for the Central lead and -16 back of the Sharks for the Conference lead. Wings are +1 over the Kings for 8th place in the Conference. Next opponent will be the Los Angeles Kings (27-19-3, 57 pts) on Saturday.

Wild: 24-23-4, 52 pts (4th in Division, 12th in Conference). Wild are -10 off of the Avalanche for the Division lead, -22 back of the Sharks for the Conference lead, and -6 back of the Red Wings for 8th place in the Conference. Next opponent is the Columbus Blue Jackets (20-24-9, 49 pts) on Saturday.

If the Kings lose tonight in regulation, the Wings will hold the 8th seed by themselves. If the Kings lose in OT/SO, they will retake the 8th spot by superior points percentage; if the Kings win by any means, then they'll take 8th by themselves by 1 point. GO SABRES!!!

I lol'd, equal parts amusement at the well-turned phrase and the saddening reality portrayed by that statement.

They were weird goals, to be sure. At the dizzying height of my rage I was ready to drive out to St. Paul and give them a piece of my mind, but upon further review even Mike didn't seem too upset at the meltdown. Maybe this meltdown was a fluke and all the other ones were legit.

What I do know is that this place would be going absolutely nuts if Flip (and then Miller) hadn't scored, so we can be thankful for that if nothing else. Their next game is against the Kings so whether or not those guys win tonight, playoff spots are on the line Saturday.

I don't think flip's been doing bad. I just think he needs to think a little quicker as what to do with the puck. It always eems, he walks in, makes a great move and instead of passing it to an open guy or shooting it, he just kind of hangs on to it and eventually loses it. If he could just finish his plays, he'd be super effective.

Zidlicky's goal went under Howard's arm. You can see the jersey flutter from the puck in the behind-the-net replay.

I only got a quick look, and I thought it went over. Regardless, Howard's entire body was under the 3 foot mark when the puck reached him. I just thought it was an odd looking save attempt.

1. I never said Datsyuk has been on fire.

2. I don't know why your comparing him to Datsyuk, probably because your insecure about Filp's play so you have to pull something out of your hat.

3. I didn't say he was bad - he annoys me with his moves and giveaways

Why does it bother you so much? B/c you have a man-crush on him (unless you're a girl) and you can't see it objectively? Watch the next game and count how many giveaways he has and how many chances to shoot/score he doesn't connect on. Be objective. I love the Wings as much as anyone but I'm not afraid to call out some of our guys. Filp needs to play better. Forget the injury, these same moves have never worked for him. He doesn't play with Dats line because he wouldn't bring the same chemistry as those guys have - I mean, why is that suddenly an excuse. Maybe if Filps was as good as you'd say he could get it done with any linemates, I mean Cleary is a 20 goal scorer and actually has scored on some of Filp's assists, so let's not through Daniel under the obligatory bus here, okay?

Howard gets a pass in that he hasn't sucked all season.

So Howard doesn't get criticized for the same error (or not error) because of things that happened in other games?

Makes sense.

This is further proof that those blaming the Washington game on Ozzie, and other similar Ozzie bashing, are simply haters. You know why it's proof? Because Howard was more at fault for the Wings' blown lead tonight than Ozzie was against Washington, and Howard was barely at fault, if at all.

But, to use your logic, "Ozzie gets a pass because he won two Cups and has about 400 wins."

There. See how pointless that kind of statement is?

Could someone possibly help me out? I'm looking for some who recorded the game on Minnesota TV, whatever channel it was on... I was in attendance and after the game I was flooded with texts and calls. Apparently they showed me right after the win. Looking to find someone who recorded the game too see how ridiculous I looked lol. Send me a message!
