GMRwings1983 8,804 Report post Posted January 24, 2010 Can someone explain to me why they evacuated an entire section? Because that was the section closest to Ericsson and Lebda.
Doc Holliday 1,888 Report post Posted January 24, 2010 How was Howard bad today? He let in 3 goals. A perfectly reasonable number. The Wings are in the BOTTOM 3 in the league for goals scored. I could care less how many goals Howard or Ozzie give up. It's meaningless. If your team can't score more then 2 goals a game, you're going to lose the majority of your games. Simple as that. Datysuk and Zetterberg need to STEP IT UP. I can't fathom why their both playing so badly. I find that ironic considering Osgood was to blame by many on this board for the Washington collapse. Yzerfan1999 81 Report post Posted January 24, 2010 Absolutely not. There's still no need to panic. These losses and games can be tough to take, but we're still in the hunt. So long as we're still in the hunt and we're unhealthy, there's no reason to panic. Now if we get healthy, get the guys a few games to get their heads and legs going and then we're still floating around 8th or 9th and losing games like this, then maybe it's time to freak out if that's what you do, or get apathetic if that's what you do. Right now, as tough as it is, I still feel ABSOLUTELY FINE down the stretch. You DO realize by the time that happens there will only be 10 games left in the season... Vladifan 680 Report post Posted January 24, 2010 Was that in? It didn't look like it. I don't think it was, damn it. Also, it looked like Datsyuk prodded it in with his skate. The net came off about a millisecond before the goal went in anyway.

We don't score. That's the number 1 problem. Every game I get more and more frustrated that we didn't do what it would've taken to keep Hossa around... Yzerman19 334 Report post Posted January 24, 2010 Bright side of this... Arbys won't be afraid of giving out curly fries for free. I don't we'll see a wing score a hat trick in a long time.
datsyukismyfriend 4 Report post Posted January 24, 2010 ericsson needs to dial it down big time. two goals were directly attributed to his dumb ass. one pinch where failed to get the puck deep and one give away deep in our zone. this loss has pissed me off more than any loss yet this season for some reason. maybe because this game was ******* important and we had it pretty well in hand and tried to coast. this is what they did all of last year. coast, coast, coast. we don't have the team to coast this year. That's the number 1 problem. Every game I get more and more frustrated that we didn't do what it would've taken to keep Hossa around... Well Hossa would have been gone for half the year and Franzen+Zetterberg would have been healthy and doing much better than they are now. Yeah, in hindsight it sucks, but it was the right call. Z and D for the C 712 Report post Posted January 24, 2010 Look out, you're about to get railroaded by a guy who thinks we should bench Dats and give Flip his minutes... Nah, I like to ignore completely retarded things, so I'll just forget about his post.

Vladifan 680 Report post Posted January 24, 2010 So who has actually played well tonight on this team? I had the very same thought. And it is very scary. And depressing.

Heroes of Hockeytown 694 Report post Posted January 24, 2010 Lebda-Ericsson is a disaster, directly led to two goals, something has got to be done about that. Pavel seems to be playing okay but can't produce, and Hank has looked like a third liner since he came back. Something has to get these guys going.

I didn't even say Howard had a bad game. Heaven forbid I do though, right? You'll never stop pointing it out. You'll do it every chance you get. You feed off of it. If you said Howard had a bad game tonight then you would be wrong. If you blame Ozzie for the loss against the Caps then you would be wrong. Edited January 24, 2010 by Howard He Do It?! gcom007 1,465 Report post Posted January 24, 2010 You DO realize by the time that happens there will only be 10 games left in the season... Yeah, but the point is, it's not going to happen. When we get Kronwall back, and that'll be soon, it'll be huge. Here's an interesting stat for you that means more to me than points and save percentages because it tells you something about the nature of the way the game is going day to day: Before Kronwall went down, we were never shut out. We still had a lot of injuries, but we still were scoring goals and getting things going. Kronwall has become a major part of our offense. We do so much setup work from our end and Kronwall was going when Lids was struggling. When we get him back and we've got 3 guys who can really cycle the puck and get rushes going and make great shots, we won't be getting shut out, and we'll be scoring a lot more goals. commadore183 103 Report post Posted January 24, 2010 3-2 Kings win. Out-worked, out-shot, out-played. Nothing much more needs to be said. I'll say it first: bench Zetterberg or Datsyuk for a game. They're our star players, they should play like star players. Datsyuk had, what, 90+ points last season? Yeah, both have 37 points and 10+ goals so far, but they aren't stepping up like that had the past few seasons when the team needed them. At least it would send a message to the others on the team. I like Zetterberg and Datsyuk, but it is painful to watch as they just do, well, nothing when it's needed. Just a sad effort we saw tonight. The team should know that a 2 goal lead is not a "safe" lead and kept pouring it on throughout the rest of the game. Didn't they learn from the Islanders game? You know, keep pushing no matter the score? I'm sure once we get Franzen and Kronwall back, we'll see an uptick in the effort, but for now, looks like we're gonna have to endure s*** effort. Xitium 272 Report post Posted January 24, 2010 Does this really need to turn into another Ozzie vs. Howard debate? Shut up already. When choke losses when Howard plays are blamed on defense, and on Ozzie when he plays, it needs to be mentioned.

Datysuk and Zetterberg need to STEP IT UP. I can't fathom why their both playing so badly. The Wings aren't playing bad because of injuries. Simple as that. They just don't care. Maybe 2 months ago I would agree, but not anymore. You can't use injuries to explain their performance anymore. Kronwall and Franzen have been out for months! You would think they would realize this and start to get it going. Even with the injuries, the players that are healthy are playing badly. No more excuses. They have had months to adjust. AND EVEN STILL, the Wings on paper are still better then LA, and they still lose. I'm not saying I like the effort every game, but that doesn't mean that I'm worried down the stretch. I have no doubts that we'll make the playoffs (probably 4th or 5th seed) and I imagine our guys will, umm, find a way to play a full 60 minutes. If they don't, then oh well...it's still not worth flipping out about now.
