ltgator333 3 Report post Posted January 30, 2010 Makes you shudder to think about what happens to this team when he retires When it happens, that will be the biggest retirement, in terms of immediate impact on the team, that I will have witnessed. Something positive- he looks like Nick Lidstrom again!
dat's sick 1,002 Report post Posted January 30, 2010 Makes you shudder to think about what happens to this team when he retires Seriously. People have been praising Stuart's play this season, rightfully so, and he is still a -9! I can't imagine the Red Wings without Lids.. here's to hoping he signs a 2-year deal in the summer. titanium2 867 Report post Posted February 2, 2010 Was watching some of Lidstrom's goals as early as NHL.com can go. Man... Lidstrom's shot seemed to have a lot more power to it.

Years of battling tendonitis in his wrist are probably taking their toll.
titanium2 867 Report post Posted February 2, 2010 Years of battling tendonitis in his wrist are probably taking their toll. I didn't know about his wrist. Or did you mean his elbow? Or maybe he had both?

titanium2 867 Report post Posted February 2, 2010 Nah, I don't know why I typed wrist, meant elbow He's said over and over again that it's not an issue. Guess his mind isn't as good as tricking his body as it once was.

SouthernWingsFan 854 Report post Posted February 2, 2010 Lidstrom looked like he was 25 again out there last night... Playing with a lot of confidence and jumping up into plays. 17 pts and a +13 in his last 15 games. Outstanding! He's even finding the back of the net with 4 goals in the past 7 games. What really impresses me is that while Detroit has been outscored at even strength (GF: 84 GA: 91), his +/- is amongst the best in the NHL at +19. Not bad for a guy who turns 40 this year! You know positivity isn't allowed on here! What are you out of your mind?!?!?!?!
Hockeytown0001 7,652 Report post Posted February 2, 2010 Nick has looked great all season. Good to see him picking up the scoring touch again, as well.
kylee 727 Report post Posted February 2, 2010 Lidstrom has been a second half player his whole career. He's turning it on now. Shouldnt be much of a suprise, and as a wings fan you shouldnt expect anything less. Hopefully he ca get Datsyuk and Zetterberg going and when the injured players come back we can make a run down the stretch. people were ready to throw Lidstrom under the bus because he was struggling along with the whole team. LGW hysteria. got nothing but love for the guy. soo freakin happy to see him producing in a huge way.
