2/11 GDT: Sharks 3 at Red Wings 2 (SO)

He saved the first two, Datsyuk should have had a better deke than he had to put us up by 1.

Yeah, we ain't winning even if Howard stops 10 shots, since we can't score one frickin goal. I thought the choice of Tuzzi was weird. He hasn't scored in awhile. Why not Franzen?

Before this thread gets deleted, I'll just step forward and give Nabokov all the credit in the world. He stole those points tonight. The Sharks were playing well below their capabilities offensively, for whatever reason, but stopping ~ 50 shots is amazing.

If he plays like this in the playoffs, they're winning the Cup, no matter how bad Thornton chokes.

Wings are so brutal in teh shootouts.. not even funny

What do you expect?? they cant score 5 goals or even 4 when the fire 40-50+ shots on goal in the game- hell, they even struggle to score 3 goals in a game, what makes you think they can score in a shootout???

Berts was bad, but he was busting his ass all night. Datsyuk pisses me off in the shootout, I mean that was embarrasing, you hit the side of the net and you came straight in... takes a special kind of suck to do that.

Franzen was fine, but he's so slow that he should just always play with Zetterberg and Datsyuk, until he gets his legs back. I have no confidence in this team Saturday night, the Sens are firing on all cylinders. Thank god for the Olympic break <_<

As I said, Babcock should have pulled Howard for the 5 on 3 in the OT.

I know the net would have been empty, but when a team is 2 men down, they don't have many chances at the empty net.

With our shootout record, it would have been the right thing to do. We already had a point secured anyway.

I've decided to count that as a win. Shootouts aren't for real anyway, and the Wings were the better team.

Saturday they'll blow Ottawa out at home and we can watch a nice, easy regulation win for a change. Then, on to the Olympics. Can't wait.

I like your optimism. :)

I wish I had some. I guess I'm just spoiled from years past. It's hard to watch a team with so much talent struggle on an almost nightly basis.

I can't figure out for the life of me what it's going to take to get them on a consistent track!

This ******* pisses me off. Our shooters give themselves horrible opportunities to score. It's like they want to pull off a great move so everyone will talk about it if they score. I wish one time, every shootout guy would go in and shoot, no dekes or anything. They get too damn cute out there and sometimes you need to just bury it.
