Maybe rafalski should "have his own pair" in detroit, have him playing with stuart or something... maybe he feels too comfortable having lids next to him so he thinks he can make lots of mistakes cause he's there to bail him out?

I'll go ahead and jinx it right now. USA might be thinking that they'll win a gold on Canada's home turf and get them back for Salt Lake city. Ain't gonna happen.

*sigh* so the s*** slinging's beginning before this game's (officially) over and the puck has even dropped on the other semifinal game? I agree the Canada's gotten stronger as the tournament has gone like they did in Salt Lake, while the US has been the most consistently good team in the tournament, like they did in Salt Lake. But all the pressure is on Canada their next two games, while the US has nothing to lose.

all that sounds like is downplaying the US team thats playing. but every team that canada beat was the second best team in the tournament.

No, by no means, but no matter how good one team is playing, the other team has to play EPICALLY BAD, to be down 6-0 15 minutes in.

So no, the Americans are playing a very good game, but Finland is playing the worst international game I have ever seen. Really think about it, even the s***ty teams like Belarus and Germany dont let in 6 goals in 15 minutes!

so if you were Wilson do you sit back on the lead or press all game long and try and score more?

I would let off the gas. I would almost be tempted to pull the goalie to give your backup some "just in case" ice and to reduce chance of injuries. No sense unduly risking injuries for nothing.

Well the Rafalski I've seen in this tournament seems to be playing loose and aggressive. He should play that way if that's when he's at his best. The Wings have to find a way to create a similar dynamic.

yeah a buddy of mine even said why not pull your first line and let the other lines get all the playing time. not sure if i have ever seen that happen but thats an idea.

By sitting back you risk injury even more. Especially with the Ruutu's on the ice. I say keep the pedal to the metal and keep the momentum going.

You see it all the time, especially in multi game playoff series, where if one team is leading in the series and takes a pronounced lead, they put the backup in for some rust removal ( and, in some cases so they qualify for a cup ring ), rest the top lines and give their 3rd and 4th lines some more ice time. Its pretty much SOP in the second or third rounds of the playoffs. You just don't take much note of it, because at that point, the series is generally pretty boring.

Haha, Bertuzzi...

"I think we're going to have some Europeans coming back with some piss and vinegar in them," Todd Bertuzzi said Friday.

From The Detroit News: http://detnews.com/article/20100226/SPORTS...s#ixzz0gg4hav1h

If only. We kept thinking that after the Wings lost 0-6 to the Islanders; when they gave up a three goal lead to the Kings; and yadda yadda yadda.

Krauts unite!

I don't know about taking out Miller either. Why mess with a good thing?

I would leave the decision to Miller, if I was coach. If the final game was tomorrow whoever, I would pull him.

yeah cause god knows you have never experienced something like this being a cheese head. GO TITANS.=)

Aaah, the continued inferiority complex of a Titans fan. It's ok that the Packers are like the Red Wings and the Titans are....like...well....the Blue Jackets. Zero history and nothing to show for their time in existence. :P

They mentioned something interesting during the break.

After Kippy screwed up in the first period, resulting in a goal, not a single Finnish player came back to say anything to him, they all just put there heads down and skated to the bench. Then after the 3rd goal, he tries to pull himself. Do the Finnish players have so little chemistry/comradry?

I know Oli Jokinen has a reputation of being pure cancer in the locker room, is it all just a Finnish thing?
