"One of the sickest moves I've ever seen!"

I feel like he used that one in January against the Wings... I wouldn't really even consider it the best I've seen from Crosby. (Though I may be impartial to the shot he took against the Swiss) It's a good move, and it works for him, but I'd still choose 50% Datsyuk over 40% Crosby.

Ehh... If Cleary did that I would be impressed. Crosby should be able to do that and anything you are expected to do does not deserve "best ever" praise.

I didn't hear the call, but based on what was written here, it wasn't call the "best ever" it was suggest to be "one of" the sickest. That said.....still a stretch, not even sure it's his best, but it certainly was a pretty slick deke. Also, to those that suggest all that should have been done is a poke check, well, easy to say now and easier said than done. How many times have you seen a goalie go for a poke check and get burned? Happened to Fleury twice in that shootout.

Gotta give Crosby credit for improving on this, he wasn't great early in his career, but this year, he's probably the best. He's tied for the most goals with 7 and of those players with 7, he has the highest percentage at 78%. The only players in the league with higher percentages are those guys that are at 100% but most of those are guys that only scored 1 or 2 goals on 1 or 2 attempts. There is one guy that's 5 for 5.

Datsyuk is 6 for 12 this year for a 50% success rate, still pretty good.

No. Pavel Datsyuk > Anybody. Just the psychological effect he has over goaltenders is unbelivable. Imagine being a goalie, you face Datsyuk in a shootout. All you are thinking is that you don't want to be on any highlight reels. The bottom line is that Pavel has moves that even NHL'ers can't dream up. He is unreal.

Babs disagrees with you. He used Sid twice in the SO against Hiller, who was super hot coming into the Olympics. Sid = Dats. Both guys are unbelievably high on the % and creativity charts on SO...

Remember this?

And to whoever said Datsyuk always comes with speed:

Babs didn't pick between Crosby and Datsyuk, he picked between Crosby and the rest of the team Canada players, so I'm not sure what that shows other than Babs thinks Crosby is good, doesn't mean anything with regards to Datsyuk.

Yep, plus, didn't Crosby have 2 shootout chances that game, missing the first and making the second?

That looks pretty similar to the move that Wojtek Wolski uses, but Wolski usually finishes on the forehand and Crosby finished on the backhand there. That was a great shootout move, no surprise that a guy with Crosby's skill could pull it off, but all I can say about Barnaby's comment is Holy Hyperbole Batman! That wasn't even the sickest shootout move of the season, let alone all time. Let's face it, even if one was not predisposed to Red Wings players, how can anyone argue that Datsyuk's move against Chicago was not the dirtiest dangle ever, he took his patented jockstrap remover and made it even more embarrassing by adding the lob shot to it.

following that move was babcock giggling like a school girl on the bench at what dats did to huet.

dats has probably atleast top 2 shootout goals of all time with that one and the one he pulled on turco and vokoun. dats is the man. bottom line.

ovechkins shootout goal was pretty much as good as crosby's and as smooth...as was semins. they just raised the puck instead of sliding it in, only difference.

yeah well Barnaby has taken too many shots to the head... probably forgets every game he watches after he goes to sleep.

Decent move on Sids part.. But from a guy who can shoot pucks into a dryer from 10 feet away it should be better

i dont necessarily think it was a great move, but the confidence he exuded in knowing that puck was going in was quite impressive. what was sick was the caps coming back from 2-0, further demonstrating that PIT is their ***** this year.

No one's ripping Crosby here. It was a nice goal. We're rippin on Matthew Barnaby.

It's the "Crosby complex" regardless.

Someone gives Crosby props for a good shootout move (albeit over the top) and there just HAS to be a thread talking about it.
