Best bit is right at the end Is there any Olympic hockey champion whose nickname is elephant?A. Mario Lemieux B. Alexei Zhitnik C. Darius Kasparitis D. Sidney Crosby Datsyuk answers: "I guess that it's Zhitnik. But I have doubts. Let it be Crosby." hooon 1,089 Report post Posted June 19, 2010 Good read. I don't like this part: "StickyFingers: Which team do you want to finish your career with? Datsyuk: Ideally, I'd like to play a season for the Ak Bars and another for Motorist [Ekaterinburg]. That would be nice. They signed me in Kazan after I suffered a serious injury. And Ekaterinburg is my native city. But not everything depends on me. That's a dream scenario."

HankthaTank 1,100 Report post Posted June 19, 2010 HAHAHA Pav is hilarious! Like honestly partying with this dude would be the most epic thing ever! s*** you not too on this story and forgive me if its rambling but.... Was standing outside of the Joe after the Mule's just dominating performance against the Sharks which ultimately was the last home game of the year, but I digress. So me and a few buddies were hanging with the other psychos waiting to see these dudes pull out in their BMW SUV's or Babs' huge F-150 he was driving, Hank's Mercedes, you know all that. I see these young ladies walking by in little skirts and just made a small crack "Hey and there goes Pav's hookers I bet" ya know hahaha all that got some laughs. Not 10 minutes later here comes Pav driving out of the lot and a second later, the same girls in a car as well. Funniest s*** ever or just coincidence who knows. But wouldn't surprise me. Pav you are an inspiration!! 1 Original-Six reacted to this

puckloo39 5,686 Report post Posted June 19, 2010 Pasha's the best! If he wasn't a hockey player, he would be an interior designer. I bet he would be good at that, too.

I don't want to see Pav go at any point, but everyone must understand that he wants to play for his home town. I mean, wouldn't all of us if we played a professional sport? Drake_Marcus 890 Report post Posted June 20, 2010 Agreed, makes you wonder what age Datsyuk will want to leave Detroit. Not me. He`s stated these desires before and always framed it as being about when his NHL career is over. NHL stars have been able to play in the KHL past their 40th birthday. Bring Kovy to the D 12 Report post Posted June 20, 2010 Agreed, makes you wonder what age Datsyuk will want to leave Detroit. I'd leave too if I was the best playmaker on the team and I don't get a f***ing winger. Jiri Hudler, Val Filppula, and Todd Bertuzzi...Man what options to play with. Jiri Hudler, Val Filppula, and Todd Bertuzzi...Man what options to play with. Horray for novelty accounts. Poor Pavel only has options like Zetterberg, Holmstrom, Hudler and Filppula to play with... you know-- the guys he's happily played with for years (averaging over a point per game). Do you have any idea how the salary cap works? Do you not understand that Kovy would hamstring the Wings' cap situation and has yet to prove himself a legitimate threat in the playoffs? The best he's gone is 5 games in the 1st round.
Nev 1,085 Report post Posted June 20, 2010 On a serious note, I thought it was interesting how Pav talked about how much hockey he's played the last 3 years, what a grind its been etc.. He sounded mentally and physically jaded - which is just how he looked for stretches last season.

I'd have zero problem with that.
evilmrt 636 Report post Posted June 22, 2010 AHAHAHA I loved that interview...great post! Kapitan_Nemo: In the playoffs Detroit met Phoenix. Did you think about chatting with Ilya Bryzgalov?Datsyuk: Of course. I was his roommate during the Olympics. In general I tend to be the roommate for goalies. Maybe I have a calming effect on goalies?
