Guest Crymson Report post Posted June 24, 2010 (edited) Didn't Messier essentially demand to have a number of a deceased player in Van? He did. The team also never made the playoffs during his tenure as captain. It's beyond me why the NHL thinks that Messier is a better leader than the likes of Yzerman. To be honest, though, I wouldn't be surprised if Yzerman turned down the opportunity to have an award named after him; the guy didn't like having so much as a hockey arena in the Ottawa area named after him. LOL @ the awards show trying to cut off Keith's speech. Edited June 24, 2010 by Crymson
e_prime 1,936 Report post Posted June 24, 2010 (edited) Yay. Green didn't belong there anyway... Doughty will be nominated for years to come. WRAP IT UP DUNCAN! Edited June 24, 2010 by e_prime

Guest Crymson Report post Posted June 24, 2010 (edited) Do any of you remember a Pens fan coming over here in '08 and claiming that Ryan Whitney would dominate the Norris Trophy for the next decade? lol. In other news, why would they give Theodore such a pat on the back for starting a charitable foundation and then give Miller the award for contributing to a charitable foundation? Finnish Wing 110 Report post Posted June 24, 2010 That's what you get when you put hockey players to keep speeches. Pavel has probably been the only one who handled it smoothly.

russianswede919293 95 Report post Posted June 24, 2010 Man the awards show might run over the time limit...if this were a playoff game it would be cut off for golf or horse racing pre race coverage...apparently awards show means more than the playoffs... 1 Vladifan reacted to this

Drake_Marcus 890 Report post Posted June 24, 2010 Worst Hart Trophy winner in history? In terms of talent? Possibly. He's a notch below Ovi and Sid in terms of talent, but he did deserve the award this year. The entire Canucks team overachieved by a large margin last season. The Sedins won't disappear, though. They'll be up in the top 10 for points for a while. 1 miller76 reacted to this
Original-Six 254 Report post Posted June 24, 2010 Good call, Messier; you picked the man voted biggest whiner by his peers. Dumbass. Don't get worked up over that joke of a award. Its more like a popularity contest. Didn't Messier father a bunch of illegitimate children? Yeah....great leadership mark 1 miller76 reacted to this
Drake_Marcus 890 Report post Posted June 24, 2010 How is Carman going to justify this? Ovi was voted better than Crosby by a jury of his peers for the 3rd year in a row. 2 Vladifan and teebo reacted to this
Carman 387 Report post Posted June 24, 2010 (edited) How is Carman going to justify this? Ovi was voted better than Crosby by a jury of his peers for the 3rd year in a row. Easy. Ovechkin is more flashy. Crosby is a better leader and winner. He was also more important to his team. Edit: Also I guess you think Henrik Sedin is a better hockey player than Datsyuk, by your stance on that award. So your response is that you know more about who's the most valuable player in the NHL than players in the NHL.
Carman 387 Report post Posted June 24, 2010 So your response is that you know more about who's the most valuable player in the NHL than players in the NHL. "most outstanding player in the regular season as judged by the members of the NHL Players Association." outstanding does not mean most valuable. 1 miller76 reacted to this
