InKennyWeTrust 126 Report post Posted February 8, 2011 COuldn't agree more w/ your assessment. Franzenis a liability when he has the puck more than .001 seconds. i.e. just shoot it Mule! Plus is back-checking has been so terrible! The play when he skated right past the guy carrying the puck into the zone made me weep baby tears.

Draperfan 104 Report post Posted February 8, 2011 Hudler and Helm the only Wings with respectable periods. I thought Lidstrom had a pretty good period.

Konnan511 1,736 Report post Posted February 8, 2011 Maybe Babcock needs to unite them more by giving them something to hate together. Hudler worked for LGW, maybe it can do the same for the Red Wings?
Electrophile 3,554 Report post Posted February 8, 2011 Maybe Babcock needs to unite them more by giving them something to hate together. Photoshop a picture of Sidney Crosby taking a dump in the bowl of the Stanley Cup, then wiping his ass with a Red Wings #19 jersey. Tell them every team they play has that picture in their lockerroom and think it's really funny. Maybe then they'll get so pissed off, they'll just go Cujo (the dog, not the goalie) on everyone. Selliria 76 Report post Posted February 8, 2011 I think most teams in the league have something similar, some aspect of either the team or the arena in this case that has become gospel to the rest of the hockey world. Examples off the top of my head would be "Minnesota plays the trap" and "The Flyers are a tough team". Neither is exactly false either but I wouldn't say the Wild play a trap anymore and the Flyers aren't in the top5 "tough" teams in the league right now. I expect people would talk about how our boards are lively if they were completely remade and people here would call the Ducks a bunch of goons if they threw out the rest of the ones they have left from a few years ago and replaced them all with 5'10'' euros. You're probably right. It's just the sticking topic for the JLA. I guess this means we're never going to escape from it - even when they move to a different arena. greenrebellion 415 Report post Posted February 8, 2011 Howard has played well. No love? I guess from a results oriented perspective he's been okay. Rangers would have about half the shots they do if he was smothering rebounds and not redirecting pucks to the opposing team. I'll take it though, I don't want to become a Howard basher, but truthfully, I'm very concerned going into the playoffs with him in net. I think we rag on the D around here a lot (and a good portion of it is deserved), but a good goalie that is always well positioned and controlling rebounds sure makes the D look a lot better. Position? Who needs it when you're channelling you inner Hasek! Now there's a guy who drove me nuts. I thought the Wings needed a disclaimer before the game, "danger, watching this game may cause sudden heart attacks in fat guys" (myself included of course )

Vladifan 680 Report post Posted February 8, 2011 (edited) Wow...there was like 3 rebounds there.. I loved how the boyz were strongly suggesting that the Nabokov thing had really screwed with Howard's psyche while he's out there stopping puck after puck that his 'friends' were letting fly at him. Yeahhh... EDIT: Sorry - I obviously attached my response to the wrong post. This was meant to go with one of the "Howard's doing good" posts.
