HockeytownRules19 902 Report post Posted March 10, 2011 Our stars took the ******* night off, despite having several days of rest. Thank you Holland for sitting on your ass at the deadline. Since you know your job is not in jeopardy, you obviously don't feel like doing anything anymore to shake things up. And resigning Howard was a mistake. It was a cheap contract, but that means he'll be around for several years. We should have freed up some cap space to pursue a real goalie instead. Guy has to give up a s***ty goal in every game. Look at what Quick did on the other end. Didn't Quick give up a s***ty goal too??? Wings lost on a good deflection, not Jimmy 2 HankthaTank and Hockeymom1960 reacted to this
WizardOfOz30 1,886 Report post Posted March 10, 2011 OK everybody. Question: Do we just suck, or do we not exert the appropriate effort? Lack of effort.

dirtydangles 1,328 Report post Posted March 10, 2011 f*** this s***. im tired of this. reffing was s***ty but still. we only put up 1. at this rate its an early exit in the playoffs. if holland doesn't pick up some younger guys in the offseason then hes an idiot. rafalski needs to hurry the f*** up. we are missing eaves hugely. and miller is so much more effective than abby at this point. babs needs to sort this s*** out. asap. it looks like z and dats on the same line has become redundant and they just get in each others way. let modano play wing on the third. IM SO ANGRY.
GMRwings1983 8,804 Report post Posted March 10, 2011 Didn't Quick give up a s***ty goal too??? Wings lost on a good deflection, not Jimmy Actually, that goal deflected off the defenseman if I'm not mistaken. Howard's goal was another bad use of rebound control. Guy is wearing clown shoes out there.
Aussie_Wing 354 Report post Posted March 10, 2011 I can't get my head around how much Franzen sucks. He's horrible beyond words. As if Bertuzzi. And Holmstrom. Actually, while I'm at it, I'll add Zetterberg, Datsyuk and inivible Mike to this list too. And Big Earthworm Ericsson.
Hockeytown0001 7,652 Report post Posted March 10, 2011 Jonathan Quick is not a world class goaltender. This bulls*** of Detroit making average goalies look like all-stars needs to end now.

Guest Howard He Do It?! Report post Posted March 10, 2011 The issue isn't goaltending. It's the offense only putting up one goal and showing zero effort. Stop using goaltending as a crutch. 2 Hockeymom1960 and HankthaTank reacted to this

wings_fanatic 677 Report post Posted March 10, 2011 Some of you guys are over reacting BIG time. Did we lose tonight? Yah. Did we play bad tonight? Absolutely not. The Wings played a really good game tonight and they can take quite a bit from this game; moving in the right direction. Here is what I thought: - the 4th line was FANTASTIC once again - Pavs had an off night, but I read his interview where he said his hand still bothers him so no beef there - I thought Cleary had a really bad game in my opinion; he seems to slow down Pavs and Hank and shot the puck from terrible areas - the refs were TERRIBLE beyond belief - Howard showed once again that he is not the answer for this team with that first goal he let in off that terrible rebound; the theme continues where howard is unable to keep the boys in games - I still believe that Babs has to keep Pavs and Hank together. Why? Because when they get used to each other again and they get their chemestry back they are the best line in hockey. Also, near the end of the game Babs put HOmer on their line and they were much better ... so I think that line will get going starting next game - Modano and Abby had a good game I thought; I like them together - Overall it was a great game where 2 key things costed the Wings: Howard's terrible rebound and the terrible missed call on Nick... but that is no need to panic and start calling for heads here... the Wings will be fine as always 2 R-Dizzle and HankthaTank reacted to this
egroen 384 Report post Posted March 10, 2011 I don't know what to say. Last year, the team played lights out in March ... somebody turn the switch on already. Though I still remember when the 2002 Wings had like 12 straight losses in March. Always disappointing to see them lose though. Ah well, I'm ready to give up on the President's Trophy. Stop using goaltending as a crutch. goaltending might not be THE issue, but it's definitely one of them. that's clear to any rational wings fan.

haroldsnepsts 4,826 Report post Posted March 10, 2011 Actually, that goal deflected off the defenseman if I'm not mistaken. Howard's goal was another bad use of rebound control. Guy is wearing clown shoes out there. Yup. I sure wouldn't equate Howard's performance with Quick's. Quick had a great game. Jimmy was giving up rebounds on weak shots that he should have swallowed. Z looked dominant out there in the first couple periods in terms of puck control, but it didn't lead to a ton of scoring chances. Helm was his usual awesome self. GMRwings1983 8,804 Report post Posted March 10, 2011 Didn't see most of the game. Did Franzen float around as per usual? I've nicknamed him Nessie, after the Loch Ness Monster, who appears as often as Franzen does. Guy just doesn't know how to play a full 82 game season. Not used to it. 1 redwings4life reacted to this
