Imo the Wings are playing with a lot of fire, I don't know what you guys are watching.

What they need to do is settle down a bit, play smarter (i.e. stop taking penalties), get control of game.

I'm not worried. Yotes play well and they're a strong team. Bryzgalov look solid. But it's been one period. Have some faith people.

refs are being ridiculous. how many times as a stick caught a guy in the helmet and it been a no call? all the time. that was incidental contact on the abby call due to a slight collision. worst reffing. meanwhile holmstrom is getting crosschecked to the ice and there is not even one call on that. i call shenanigans on these refs.

Yeah the Holmstrom stuff has me pretty skeptical too but if the Wings had just even slightly better awareness of their sticks then the refs wouldn't have called as many penalties.

I agree, they have been physical, skating well but just lack some polish with their passing.

Besides all the penalties we have been running into each other, turning pucks over, getting pick-pocketed, bad positioning, and Howard gave the puck away behind the net. Not much different than the regular season... I thought starting the playoffs would fix all our problems?

It sucks that we still have not figured out how to play well in the first period. I do not doubt we will pick it up in later periods, but damn I was hoping to see a different red wings team tonight.

So it looks like teams have figured us out. Doesn't seem like we can keep the puck on our sticks for very long before it's taken away. The Yotes D is converging to the net, while covering their man...while we let them skate right up to our net for a quality scoring chance.

Do we need to go to the "chuck and run" like we did in the final game in Chicago? Seemed to work...at least we got the puck into their zone and gained control...I was going to say maybe draw a few penalties, but that doesn't look like it's going to happen.
