That's where a sarcasm emoticon would come in handy.

I'll be sure to use one when I am being sarcastic.

You cannot go that low on a hit. The hip was an open target. There was no need for Ballard to go that low.

positive sign for nashville there at the end, starting to play their game now.

just need one goal

If Weber can find a way to get his shot through traffic the Preds players down low should be able to gobble up the rebounds that Luongo loves to give up. This game is still very much up for grabs, especially with the small sign of life that the Preds just showed.

Wrong...!

Clipping rule states you cannot hit below the knees, anything above is open.

P.S. what a sleeper of a game, save that perfectly clean hit!

It was ass to hip. That's what a hip check is. Ballard and Hamhuis throw a couple dozen of them every year just like that and don't get penalized. But with the general consensus being it was a good legal hit, you can be the exception that proves the rule.

Consensus among who? The color guy on CBC, you and the other Canucks fan in here?

The point of contact was definitely not the hip. It was across the knees, which is clipping.

The NHL disagrees with you.

44.1 Clipping - Clipping is the act of throwing the body, from any direction, across or below the knees of an opponent.

A player may not deliver a check in a “clipping” manner, nor lower his own body position to deliver a check on or below an opponent’s knees.

An illegal “low hit” is a check that is delivered by a player or goalkeeper who may or may not have both skates on the ice, with his sole intent to check the opponent in the area of his knees. A player may not lower his body position to deliver a check to an opponent’s knees.

It's impossible to argue with someone who's essentially saying the sky is not blue - it's purple with yellow polka dots. If you believe that, it's your reality and I can't change it.

And I was going to cite the same rule for you, but if you believe the point of contact was the knees then there's nothing more to argue about except maybe how bad your eyesight really is.

And it's impossible to argue with a Canucks homer. I bet you could come up with a reason why every Canucks penalty was in fact not a penalty but a conspiracy originating from the NHL to keep the Canucks from winning the Cup.

If you really want to argue against video evidence go ahead. It just makes you look like a bigger homer.

Uhh, they kinda forgot the lighting when interviewing Mats Sundin. Seriously how can they not tell that you can't see anyone.

Stating the correctly enforced rule and calling you a homer is getting pissy? You trolls sure are a touchy bunch.

Preds have 20 minutes to make something happen.

Sorry Calimari, I'd say every analyst and their sister disagrees with you and the letter of the NHL rule on clipping does too ;)

Care to provide a list of those analysts, preferably one that doesn't include hometown announcers? Troll on!

Wow, I forgot Game 1 was tonight.

I think the crowd did too. Very quiet.

They really haven't had much to cheer for. "Luo!" chants are at an all time low tonight.
