pucktividi 472 Report post Posted June 26, 2011 How about White as an option? he reminds me on the lighter version of Rafi.yeah, his numbers are not impressive, but he's been playing for the Leafs,Flames,Canes and was very solid playing for the better team like Sharks. I'll take him,but only if we're out of other possibilities

I think Gagne could be an excellent option as he put up 40 in 63 games last season, despite having a terrible start, and had 12 points in 15 playoff games. He could come for around $4 million, but if he stays healthy and meshes with Z or Dats, he could put up 30 goals and return to glory. I also like your D pairings. I wouldn't mind if we just signed Wiz or Ehrhoff as our top 4 guy and then went out and got Montador, Jovo, etc... as our 5-6 guy. It looks like Ericsson will be here though, so it may just be 1 guy we sign, who knows... I hope we make a big splash tough. The trade avenue has not closed yet, too, so I wouldn't close that door, but I cannot think of who we could target, aside from Gonchar or Kuba.

Bannedforlife 403 Report post Posted June 30, 2011 The rights to Montador have been traded to the Blackhawks. I have a feeling that this is just the way it is now. If you can't sign your guy and are going to lose him to free agency, why not get something for him? Holland should get on board with this, because sitting around waiting for July 1st isn't getting it done. It goes both ways too, so the 6th round pick we could get for Ericsson could offset the 5th round pick we would've given up for Wisniewski.

Matt 1,049 Report post Posted June 30, 2011 Not sure why, but for some reason I think the Wings may be serious players for Richards come Friday. Cement the 2nd line center and PP point, Hank plays with Pavel, clutch player... Key would be accepting the Wings' new "self cap", which I would assume would be Datsyuk's $6.7m/yr, which I don't consider a big sacrifice when you combine it with what his agent said Brad is looking for: a cup contender and a hockey market. If the Wings can pull of a miracle at the $6.7m they still have plenty of cap space to throw around to land a decent defenseman, goaltender, etc. (Honestly, I would prefer they go for an impact player and a lesser defenseman than overspend in a seller's market on Wisniewski/Ehrhoff when the Wings will be right back in this position next summer.) If Holland is somehow able to pilfer off Hudler that'd make it even easier. Oh, the joys of dream scenarios... 1 Detroit \# 1 Fan reacted to this

dirtydangles 1,328 Report post Posted June 30, 2011 one thing id like to see change next season is less cycling of the bottom line guys. everyone agrees that mursak should be a regular and so should abby. With miller in, i see him being very unhappy sitting again this season, it was an awkward situation last season and would only get worse. if richards isn't signed i see us grabbing a top 6 winger and still having this problem with the bottom line. who would be a better option for the 14th spot?
