I'm not sure another Franzen is what we need. Inconsistency kills, because when all your streaky players fail to show up... say, during the playoffs... Well, it will be interesting to see how this guy develops; these reports aren't necessarily representative of what the player will grow into.

Franzen is probably the last player you should mention with "not showing up in the playoffs".

Obv haven't seen this kid play outside of "stats" and "blogs" the kid has skills.

"Obv" I have not, and nowhere did I refute that he has skills. What I was indicating was that the report of inconsistency is a concern, because I feel we need more consistent players. That being said, neither of us have seen him play in the NHL, hence the wait-and-see comment.

Sproul might not seem like an attractive pick, but I think he's going to be decent.

RYAN SPROUL!! Good pick I reckon, good size, lot of offensive potential.

Ken Holland: Hes (Mursak) a young guy, provides energy, can skate, hes a puck hound.

Make no mistake, we don't have enough D prospects to fill out the top half of our roster. Our bottom half will be fine. Unless at least one of the guys in our system besides Smith can become a top three guy we will be signing big name Dmen in the future.

Tootoo does NOT belong on this team. He is classless and I would rather see the Wings be bad than classless. I feel the same way about Bertuzzi as well, but he at least CAN make the team better. With Tootoo the team becomes worse and in danger of being classless. Would you have liked Claude on the team? Or Roy? No. So why would you be okay with that POS.

The Wings absolutely killed it in the second round. All 3 of those guys are very good picks IMO. I really wanted Catenacci with the 55th, but I cant be upset with us grabbing Sproul.

If we could somehow get Zach Yuen with our 85th pick, i would call this a very successful draft so far.

I say Holland gets up behind the podium and starts auctioning off Hudler. Its worth a shot.

That Sproul kid looks pretty promising. Size, shot, looks like a good decision maker too.

If Filatov is worth a 3rd rounder, Hudler should have been worth more.

Wings go Jurco AND Ouellet...holy s***! Jurco was arguably one of the best players in the CHL this past season and Ouellet has damn near the most potential of all the DMen out there. And some interesting stats about Sproul:

In his first Ontario Hockey League season, Sproul led all defensemen and rookies on Sault Ste. Marie in scoring with 14 goals and 33 points in 61 games. He scored 10 goals after January 1, second to only CHL Player of the year Ryan Ellis (12).

So Holland got two first round talents for his first round draft pick. All you haters can suck it now.
